Frankly, I dont see why Battleships shouldnt be taking Frigates out...
And since this is the part where reality gets smacked down, Ima go with Star Wars
Just because the Super Star Destroyer has big guns, dun mean it shouldnt also be able to use small ones to kill that idiot in the X-Wing...
Instead of making BS weapons good for nothing, make them more specific:
1400 and 1200 only useful for heavy hitting at long range (50+ km).
650 and 800 only useful for heavy hitting at medium range (25-50km).
And the D425 Autocannons for just plain hitting at short range (0-25km).
So instead of making every damn gun useless in every role, make them useful in the freakin roles they are intended for. That way you won't have ppl using 6x 1400s on Frigs at 40 km.
Mix it up and give us reasons to fit for long and short, tracking shouldnt matter as much as range...at least until under 25 km. ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Rather than a fixed isk cost, it should be a consumable that you can affect with a skill to increase efficiency...

Well to be honest. If you can afford to maintain a fleet, you should be able to.
But as it stands you buy the car, but never the gas...

There could be a low slot mod that affects fuel consumption, and a mid slot mod that gives you a bigger 'tank'...sorta like cap.
Could add the efficiency bonus to Power Diagnostics (and strip all the boosting penalties from Relays) and make the mid slot mod a 'Deuterium (or whatever the fuel's name might be) Tank Expander I' that adds maybe 10%...
Ships should have operating costs.
What still needs to be thought about is what exactly drains this fuel, what happens when it is gone, and how do you replenish it.
Frankly, I would love to run into ships that are abandoned because the owner got careless about fuel...would add a lot to the game.
On that note, you should be able to carry fuel in cans in your cargo. Think Jerrycan meets Large Standard Container.
As for how it could be produced, that is more of an issue I think...
I think deployables could be tied into this, make a deployable 'well' that taps into the moon for the raw 'fuel'.
This make deployables so valuable that we would have ppl starting corps just to do this...
Imagine, that Enron corp actually doing something related to the real one... ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Comparing Capacitor to a fuel source is just dumb. It isnt fuel, it is converted energy. But what is powering that Reactor?
Capacitor is a short term energy battery, still have to get the energy from somwhere...and with as advanced as these ships seem to be, I wouldnt be surprised to find out my phoon goota HEMI... ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Originally by: GOD050 Then what happens if u get stuck out in the middle of nowhere unable to move?
Whose fault would that be?

And whose fault would that be?
Quote: And then you'll bi@ch when u have nothing to generate power to regenerate your non-existant shields, and NPC rats tear you apart and all ur left with is ur lonely little pod.
That is the idea, risk something.
Quote: With no petrol.
Think about it.
I have thought plenty. I already stated that I would find it enormously amusing to run across some ship that ran outta fuel and had to be abandoned.
The only difference between me and you is I dont mind paying for fuel. Our view on weapons is about the same. So give a good reason not to have fuel. ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Alrighty, if your reason not to have fuel is that some dumb people will run out once in awhile, then you have no reason.
Of course people will run out, that is part of it. You take care of your ship and it will take care of you.
Lot more carebears in this game than I figured... =/ ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000
