Hi All,
I was wondering... what is the best med weapon ingame now after the patch, no matter the type (hyb/energy/proj), weapon upgrades or skill (consider the same skill to all) ?
And, of course, I'm not talking about the dmg mod. I'm talking about dmg / SECOND. Secondary, range.
opinions ?

actually the mod heavy beam is nice mostly because of it's range and ammo usage.
The most powerful med laser is I thikn the heavy pulse.. dunno about projectile.

I would like to know that too... Sometimes I fit my ship in a way that I need the cap, so projs would be a nice solution. _______________________________________________

The heavy modulated beam is a superb laser awesome range and damage. It uses about as much cap as a 250 railgun standard. The problem is with the heavy mod beam is you need an Amarr cruiser or really dam good skills and mods on a top end cruiser to use these for pvp IMO. I fly and MOA and I use 3 heavy mods and 1 modulated medium beam. This setup works great but I have controlled bursts 4 energy sys ops level 4 and I use 3 power diags tech level 2 I think they are. I used to use AGM caps for hunting pirates 16.5% cap bonus recharge but those got nerfed into uselessness. Cap recharge is your goal as well as max cap I have energy management 3 or 4 forget (at work) which gives you a cap bonus as do the 3 power diags.
So heavy mods concentrate mainly on cap recharge time get it down to 200 secs tops. I can use a medium clarity ward even firing all guns without a problem. Your weakness will be long drawn out fights.
425's are awesome as well they do very very good damage with the rof for a projectile. These are a better PVP gun IMO not for pirates though compared to the heavy mod beams. You can be lax in the energy recharge among other things here.
It will come down to preference really I prefer Heavy mods because when I travel I don't need to find a factory slot for ammo and I even have an acount that is an indy driver. It makes life easier. The 425's are the best though if you know or going to be mixing it up with others.
Lasers are nice not as high dmg as projectile since they are the uber gun atm but over time with very good engineering skills lasers become very viable for pvp as well.
PS - Projectiles if you want to look at it are basically a poor mans pvp gun. If you have low level skills and less than good ships this make a huge difference. Right now they are a lil too powerful with no real consequence but basically this weapon type takes no real time invested to bring it to fruition. I am not saying people that use them are poor (I use em myself) but basically you can take a new character strap these on and kill good. Lasers take some time to build up the skills to make them REAL good and hybrids are similar in this fashion.

A nice blast from the past, though. I actually remember farming sanshas in 0.0 for those with a mate 3 years ago, with both of us in Moas.
