I do not normally post on forums but after just watching the news im a bit worried over the future of eve. British government councils and police force as well as private investors have ú860,000,000 tied up in icelands banks who have illegally taken the decision to freeze the accounts while going into liquidation. The prime minister Gordon Brown has anounced this on the news to be unacceptable and considering taking legal action, and in the mean time he has just stated that icelandic buisness assets will be frozen in the UK untill this is resolved. My question to CCP is this, do i have to start a long skill training and how safe is CCP from all what is going on, and should i consider paying for my subscriptions on a monthly basis to be on the safe side ?

The media is spamming "Financial crisis" all over the place and people are only worried about Eve? This tells me two things, either:
The whiners are people who don't yet have to worry about money, i.e children. Or They're so wealthy that they really don't have to worry about money.

The financial crisis started at least a year before the media started spamming news about it. This tells me one thing:
Most people see the world through the eyes of the media and otherwise don't give a shit about what's happening around them. I find this much more disturbing than the actual content of the news (partly but not exclusively because "most people" includes myself)
Also, when I mentioned Iceland and its crisis to people I know irl, I realized they haven't even heard about it. I find it disturbing that I know about this stuff because I am playing an internet spaceships game. I don't even have a TV, and I don't read a lot of news, except for an occasional google for something I pick up that interests me. So why is it usually me who brings up all the news stories during lunch break at work? Are all the "normal" people I know irl in fact secret WoW addicts who live in a basement and are completely oblivious to the world outside?
@OP If you want to be on the safe side, I'd suggest buying a one year subscription. Your money might very well not be worth shit in a couple of months, weeks or even days, so better invest it in something more real ...

Are you living in cuckoo land ? This came from the horses mouth, the prime minister has said he will freeze all assets of icelandic companies in the uk, this is not a question of your opinions its a question of eves future and thousands of people who have invested over the years in this game should be worried about their accounts. The server is in UK and of course this is a consern after what the prime minister said today
