Im getting annoyed at the fact that whenever i DC in a mission or anywhere with my drones out, they deactivate.
Can it be changed so that if you DC your drones come back to you instantly?
I fly a dominix, and now after losing my heavy drones ive lose most of my DPS...
And i now have to spend my ISK on buying new ones.
If it could be changed so NPCs dont target inactive drones that would work too.
when i move to t2 drones, dcing will cost me 5 million ISK.

YES PLEASE!
Carrier and Mothership pilots lose a LOT of isk when fighters are out and they get DSC!
Make drones/fighters appear in our drone bay please!

I'm not going to just type "/signed" since the new forum rules discourage that...
However, I'd like to add that I also agree something should be done about drone disconnects. On top of that, I'll add that something should be done about drones and warping in general.
As another poster mentioned in a different thread, no other ship type loses the majority of their offensive capabilities so easily. I believe there should be some method of saving one's drones when warp is enabled. Perhaps an "emergency get back to controller" mode would be activated, causing the drones (or freighters) to burn full speed back to their controller when warp is initiated. This would both help emergency warps (and those who forgot to pull their drones in) by saving at least a couple drones, but also still punish those who don't take the time to manually pull them in.
As far as emergency warp, perhaps even non-fighter drones could have a one-way warp feature, in which they would warp with the ship e-warping out (and appearing in the drone bay when the pilot is able to regain connection): Again, to try to keep this from being abused, it could take a certain amount of time (30? 45 seconds?) for drones to "recalibrate" their sensors or "recharge" their emergency drives and would be unable to be launched for that time period.

At least you have a chance of flying back and getting your drones again. People who do exploration have it even worse.
If you D/C while you have probes out, you lose them. It sucks to have just placed 10+ quest probes and then D/C. Why can't you reconnect to the probes that you have out after losing connection? They're still there sitting in space.

I definately agree with this, and being gallente I agree with the drone issue as well.
I've lost a full run of probes a few times, thankfully not for quite a while, dc's dont seem to be as much of a problem for me anymore. It's still an issue that should be looked at though. Can we please get a response from you about this CCP? |

Let us retain the control of our drones/fighters/probes after a disconnection. |

This would be great but I'm sure something CCP has considered at some point and chosen to not do for one reason or the next. |

I fly a Dominix in missions and I noticed that once I trained Fighters for my carrier that I sometimes get to keep control on disconnects and warp outs. It seems to require having fighters trained, and it only works if the drones are not attacking anything unfortunately. But if I have my drones returning to me or deployed and not fighting and disconnect, they will show up under Drones in Distant Space still under my control. They can't warp to me, but as soon as I warp to them they return to drone bay on their own without having to fly around and scoop.

Although I don't agree with the idea of adding even more skills to the lot, a possible workaround could be an advanced skill that after its training the drones could accelerate when you warp and return to bay. As of course the main issue is on t2 drones. For t1 is only annoying (as the costs are low) and you should better don't forget your drones back anyway.
For the dc issue tho, that's purely mechanics and a solution should be pretty easy to deliver.

To play devil's advocate. Couldn't this be abused by those who logoff/pull plug in order to avoid a fight? |

I want this idea done so badly so I can start abusing the logoffski trick!
now seriously if they returned on a dc, then that will only lead to more noobs pulling the plug on a pvp fight gone bad and claim it as a 'dc'. Then I dont get there expensive drones at the very least when they pull a wuss tactic like that.

/signed ... in contravention and protest to the 'new forum rules'
Discouraging signed comments is stupid for one reason. A sensible idea that is well thought out and everyone agrees with doesn't need another post of comments, but if you dont put something down to show your support the topic will sink rapidly in to the ether, buried by a pile of whining buff/nerf contentious, and probably stupid, topics. |

Thats a must to be fixxed. Even i am a caldari and have the lowest drone bay i can say that it is boring to constantly buy drones that are being lost when i get DSC. |

I think the whole management of the DC should be edited, like the instant re-warping in which can send you right into a middle of an enemy camp (for example, if you were inside a plex) so directly to death. But yes, drones should be saved from this stupid way of losing them. |

Edited by: Katana Seiko on 21/11/2008 05:15:46 I wonder what the devs would say about something like THIS...
Yes, Drones should stay connected to the ship as long as the ship is in the same solar system.
