Hi there,
A few of my friends have reported this problem lately and now one of them lost a carrier because of this. If anyone could confirm that this is happening or even give answers of why and exactly when that would be great!
It's quite simple actually, you board a carrier in space and you don't see your modules, i.e. you cannot activate them. If you do an instant relog, it does not go away. You have to wait until your ship disappears from space before you relog, only then gets it back to normal.
Now, it's not clear if this happens anywhere or only under POS forcefields because we haven't tried everywhere for obvious reasons. Also, you might have to board another ship and then eject and board your carrier again for this to happen.
It happens both on classic and premium client, and on completely different hardware so this is not a "buy better comp" issue, but a genuine UI issue that has something to do with client-server interaction as a simple relog does not solve it.
It does not always happen, but several times a day is enough to be a pain, and losing a ship worth more than 1bil because of it is more than a bit unsettling...

Its been happening for so long that I don't remember a time when it wasn't an issue.
Definitely a known bug that will be fixed soon(tm).

Is it on the known issues page? Did CCP ever acknowledge it? Have they ever reimbursed a ship if it got lost due to this bug?
Again, we are talking ships worth bils, any help is appreciated! Thx

I experience this every time i use my carrier pretty much, as well as incredibly slow refresh rates when it comes to accessing the corporate hangar on my ship. I have petitioned this before and below is the response:-
"Thank you for contacting EVE Customer Support Service.
Actually there is some issue with the display of the carrier modules sometimes, and usually it is solved either by clearing the cache or by waiting.
Unfortunately, as I'm not in direct tie with the development team, I cannot tell you what is causing this.
As the issue is now solved, may I close this petition for you now ?

The reference to the issue being now solved is because the modules had reappeared after a nights sleep, not the fact the modules are no longer disappearing....
It does suck big time though as having no modules for a return jump is rubbish. It is good to know that it is only a case of waiting until the ship disappears from space before they return though.
