I'm doing lvl 4 missions atm and I've seen alot of setups that use arby launchers instead of T2 launchers (cruises). I'm guessing they do theat because it's cheaper to use T1 ammo but is it really worth the decrease in dps?

As a whole T2 modules require more PG/CPU then T1 and a lot more then best named. Not to mention some people just don't have the skills required to use T2.
P.S. T2 amo is not worth using outside PVP but you will still get the bonus from "XXXX missile specialization" for using T1 amo. _______________

People that use arbalest instead of T2 launchers ONLY use them for one of two reasons : a) fiting issues or b) lack of skill
You CAN use T1 ammo in T2 launchers. Actually, in most cases, T2 ammo in T2 launchers is a bad idea.
Also, even at L1 spec skills, T2 launcher gets more DPS than an Arbalest launcher.
P.S. On the other hand, faction launchers are easier to fit and have better DPS compared to T2 even at maxed-out spec skills, so if you can afford them, use them. The only exception is for Siege launchers, probably the only type of missile where the T2 ammo (Javelin) is useful in missions/PvE.

Edited by: UD146326 on 11/10/2008 16:37:19 Thanks for the quick response. I can use T2 launchers and I have advance weapon upgrades and weapons upgrades to 5 so fitting T2 launchers won't be a problem. So I'll just use T2 cruise launchers with T1 ammo.

T2 or CN Cruise launchers with T1 or CN ammo and XL booster, 3-4 BCSs, CCC or SMC rigs
or
T2 Siege launchers with Javelin ammo (keep some T1 ammo too if you like, you can use it in some missions), TPainter and L booster, 2-3 BCSs and co-proc, 2 missile flight time and a missile flight speed rig
