The fight in my eyes
After many minutes of preparing and an emo rage of epic proportions from tom about how hot dropped we were about to be, BYDI bs's stopped hopping safe spots so quickly, and our rapier/damnation as our smallest gang mates got initial tackle with our bs fleet of 13 30 a.u. behind.
FIGHT 1
Our initial strategy was to engage the similar sized bs bydi fleet with carriers on standby to counter whatever hot drop they may have been bringing.
After one battleship kill, the bydi cyno was lit... and from it descended 4 carriers and 6 dreadnaughts. Overviews un-updated and only seeing 2 hostile carriers on grid, our cyno is lit. But only one carrier is actually dumb enough to jump in. unable to break hostile battleships rr tank our silly carrier warps out with the rest of our fleet which has sustained minimal losses. 4bs 1 cs lost 1 bs killed ____
With hostile dreads in siege, and having seen the actual size of bydi's capital fleetą secondary and tertiary cynos are brought online. Carriers swap out to dreads, abp is given the call, and half of our support fleet boardsĘ tackler ships.
Fight 2
30 seconds after all hostile capitals have jumped out. Finally ready; the first of our few support hit the grid. A megathron, damnation, astarte, and crow. Tacklers are made, and the bait cyno is lit. 2 carriers jump through.
Our cyno falcon is killed.
All dreadnaughts have been told to fit for range.
Hostile capitals jump in, again 4 carriers strong and 6 dreads strong, to be soon joined by a 7th mid fight.
Our backup cyno is in warp 30 seconds later in a glorious kestrel. Lighting the cyno, 35km from the hostile capital fleet enters our 3rd carrier and 7 dreadnaughts.
Outnumbered support wise 3 to 1, the playing field is kept even by our capital fleet's distance.
Our fast support concentrated on keeping hostile carriers tackled, and knocking the 4 hostile falcons off grid to keep our points live.
Without enough rr support invicta suffers the loss of 2 carriers and a dreadnaught. As well as a cs, a recon, and another bs.
As hostile capitals start to drop one after another more backup starts arriving in the form of support, and an extra carrier.
the fight ends with only one hostile thanatos, and a large portion of the hostile bs fleet escaping.
Before us lay the wrecks of 6 battleship, 6 dreadnaughts, and 2 carriers. most notably the brave moros pilot Villwrath who stormed into battle in his moros wielding 4 t2 expanded cargoholds, clearly intent on carrying enough stront for his fleet to last until downtime.
I spent fight 1 in a typhoon, and after witnessing the poor fps, i swapped to my crow to keep ugluuks thanatos tackled for the remainder of fight 2.
It was absolutely great, lots of fun, and props to everyone.
