Edited by: Ugluuk on 12/10/2008 23:53:56 When i logged in today i knew at once that i was gonna get a good fight..
My guys were going after Invicta who dropped carriers on our battleship fleet yesterday..Revenge was in place and i ganged up..
FIGHT 1
Indregulle (0.2) Sunday 12th Oct 2008 21:34 - 21:39 6 Kills / 1 Loss 1,038,705,061 ISK / 215,420,015 ISK
Our BS fleet went towards their HQ space and instantly got camped in by a mixed Invicta/ABP gang.. After flying around in safespots for a while we chose to let them probe us out.. Once they got our location local filled up by 16-20 and we knew we were getting the fight we wanted..We had about the same number of battleships and the party started.. But when they didn`t pop the cyno as we expected we dropped our cyno and sent in the capitals we had available..
6 Dreads and 4 carriers..Just as a little payback for yesterday.. The fight was smooth from our point of view and results was 1 BS lost and 4BS, 2 CS killed.. 215mill loss and 1bill dmg..
We waited a few min to get dreads outta siege and jumped the caps home.. Then a few minutes later as our support was getting ready to leave they came back..
And the safespot in Indregulle was getting HOT!!
FIGHT 2
Indregulle (0.2) Sunday 12th Oct 2008 21:51 - 22:16 12 Kills / 15 Losses 8,331,432,399 ISK / 14,821,927,129 ISK + 1 Arma, 2 Falcons.
Total ships involved: BYDI 24 ENEMY: 41
They sent in a bunch of ships and also dropped the cyno..We had already lost 2 capital pilots to bed time and had 5 dreads and 2 carriers left..
We took a quick desicion on vent while undocking our capitals.. SHOULD WE DO THIS? They know our fleet..They wont drop on us without having enough to spank us.. And we already knew Invicta was napped with mostly all the corporations that has some sort of reputation down here..
Hell yes..Lets do it..CYNO CYNO we hear on vent..2 Thanatos.. We instantly popped our cyno and jumped in what we had..Worst case scenario we lost all and got 2 kills..
We land in the heart of the battle and instantly pop the cyno ship and molest their first Thanatos..When we start working on Thanatos number 2 a new cyno pops.. And omfg i heard on Vent..
Moros,Moros,Moros,Moros,Moros,Revelation,Revelation and several carriers all landing 40km+ from us with range fittings.. This looks bad man one of us said on vent..But it was as expected and the battle started..
Thanatos number 2 went down and they started by primary our Naglfar..We went for a Moros as new primary and the guys changed to lead.. Our nag dropped first and as we lost our second dread (Phoenix) they lost a Moros..
Local just kept filling up and we had in the meantime cynoed in another Phoenix that logged in and they cynoed in more aswell..
Suddenly we were 4 dreads 2 carriers vs 6 dreads,4 carriers, 1 mothership.. Their support also went up in numbers and 5 Falcons vs our 2 was bad..Really bad..
It wasn`t just BYDI vs Invicta/ABP amymore..They had called in Cry Havoc,Total Failure,The Athiest Syndicate and Deep Freeze Inc..
We never thought of leaving tho and kept on fighting between the jam free sessions..
In the next 8 minutes we lost our last 4 dreads and killed a Moros and an Archon.. After that with 9 capitals vs our 2 last carriers we got demolished pretty fast..
But god damn it was a fun and good fight and 100% free for smack.. We knew what we went up against, we knew what we were gonna get..And we took it like men and dealt some damage back aswell..
8 caps lost and 5 killed 8 support lost and 7 killed..
Good fight guys and i wanna thank my guys for being so careless to say yes to do this fight..Was one of the best fights i`ve had in a year..
Also wanna thank Invicta and ABP for bringing it..A pleasure to fight Old School people..
(i think the stats are correct but not long since the fight so let me know if it aint)

Yep fantastic fun....seems like the entire evening just vanished and here I am at 1am wondering were it all went. The was the first time I flew the Naglfar 'Gun Boat Democracy' and the last. But it was worth every single isk. Once that was down I enjoyed a fun dual on my falcon char against 3 or 4 other enemy falcons. Each of us jamming and counter jamming each other.

Forgetting to swap my "logistics" Moros to my "omg cap fight" Moros definitely didn't help me (or us) at all, lol. Honor Tanking 4TW!
Was a great fight though, everyone had great fun for sure. We may have been well outnumbered in support, outnumbered in caps, and 3x outnumbered in EW, but we hung in there strong and I am extremely proud of everyone of our guys who took part in this fight.
Big Thanks to Atomic Battle Penguins, Invicta, Cry Havoc alliance, Total Failure, The Athiest Syndicate and Deep Freeze Inc for bringing it this big just for little ole' us. We are flattered.
So are you guys available again tomorrow??

Aye, great fight gentlemen. Enjoyed it immensely, one of my best small-gang fights in EVE...perfect sized gangs, in a SS in lowsec...wonderful all around.
As the guy who probed you down...I hated warping in to your SS's just as you warped off, good work :P
As a BS pilot in the fight...you brought it to us hard, nicely done.
As a slave-setted cyno kessie (lulz)...you scared the shit out of me...damn taht navy vexor for popping my pod at P1!! ;)
As a capital pilot in the fight...intense, intense fight, best fight I've had in my carrier yet.
Look forward to more gentlemen o/

I enjoyed the last two days hugely. The capital fight tonight was unbelievable.
The story, from my perspective, is that last night I warped after one of you and chased him into Indregulle. Only to discover a large gate camp waiting for me.
So my astarte got roasted. Hah.. not the result I'd been looking for, but when you guys decided one was enough, and headed for home.. we decided some payback was in order.
A three carrier hotdrop in Deven scattered your battleships and claimed three of them.
Tonight. Well. Your fleet was back in Indregulle. One jump from our home base. We mobilised our capitals, expecting you to hotdrop us. Some very good advice from our ranks kept our hotdrop from happening until we'd had a look at your forces and we'd had a bit of a reorganise. Then you guys started jumping out at the end of your sieges.. so we dropped two carriers to convince you to come back and play. When you obliged, we jumped. For my part... I fully expected to be primary, I wasn't even locked. Lucky I suppose, hah.. the majority of the capitals that jumped into that battle were destroyed.
It was an excellent battle. Well done.

Figured I'd add my own battle report...
When I first got to Indregrulle, the hostiles had just warped off the Murethand (INVT's home system) gate, and were sitting in a SS. While we got our BS's arranged, INVCT were hanging out in Heydieles with their gang. We eventually got both of our gangs sitting on the Indregulle gate in Heydielles, with more than enough BS's to take out the BYDI gang (which at the beginnign of the engagement was 10 BS's plus a damnation).
We get intel warning us that it's a trap, and that BYDI were planning on hot-dropping us, as INVT had done the same to BYDI before and they were prepared and ready to counter-hot-drop. While this news is filtering around, and both INVT and us were getting our caps in order again, the BYDI BS gang began warping around crazily in Indregrulle.
I struggled to keep in their ss for long enough for the INVT damnation to get in and get a point on something, but they were warping around SS's very rapidly. Eventually, however, BYDI stopped warping around, and remained in one SS in the middle of the system. Presumably, the warping around between SS's served two purposes: 1.) making us think they were hesitant to engage, and 2.) gave them enough time to plan their strategy and get their capitals / cynos in order. Either way, once the INVT damnation got a point on a BS, the fight began.
We jumped in our combined BS fleet, warped to the SS, and began killing. This first part of the fight definitely did not go our way. The INVT damnation dropped as our fleet just began to arrive, and as Ricky was first in, he quickly got primaried and dropped. They popped two cynos and jumped in their capitals, and chaos ensued on comms as the dread/carrier numbers were debated and people got lagged, etc. The gang lost 2/3 BS's in this first skirmish, before we warped everything out. INVT retreated to Heyd, and our gang returned to OMS.
At this point, they were still sitting in the SS with their caps, and now that we knew the size and composition of their cap fleet, we prepared our own to re-engage. I checked on their hostile dreads: what guns did they have fitted: close or long range? The Moros/Rev/Nag all had close range guns fitted, so the FC made the call to fit our dreads for long range.
By the time our gang was in order, however, the hostile capitals had just cynoed out. The INVT FC made the decision to jump two carriers in as bait / to show we wanted to play. They jumped in to a falcon's cyno, and the two of them engaged the BYDI bs fleet while we waited for them to (hopefully) drop their capitals back in. A few moments later, they dropped all their dreads / carriers back in to the field.
Our first falcon cyno was popped, so I (bravely, of course) warped my slave-set suicide cyno kessie into the SS from OMS onto the hostile cyno at 50km, to give our dreads the range advantage. Our capitals jumped into N2, and the fight began.
We called a Naglfar primary, which in retrospect might have been a mistake because he was fitted purely for tank, not damage, but we couldn't have any idea of knowing that. It took forever to go down, while the first two bait carriers were killed by the hostile capitals.
The slugfest ensued, but once we took their phoenixes down (as they were doing the most damage to our capitals), the fight swung in our favor. The support battle was quite hectic, as the BYDI gang had a lot of falcons / BS's still on the field, and for a while we only had our capitals. Eventually, however, more of our support returned in from OMS / Heydieles, and that battle swung in our favor, just as we gained the advantage in the capital battle.
We cleaned up the remaining caps, although one hostile carrier did manage to warp out to a planet and cyno away to safety.
We held the field, got owned by Invicta's looting skills, and that, as they say, was that.

With some P.O.W to back it up. Not many Corps are willing to go to the extent that BYDI did. Fight was lost but overall the game goes to BYDI for against odds and out numbered.

It was a nanotar, which was my only thing i brought in that survived. That was a wild fight and I was loving it. I got to be the first guy in for the first engagement with the damnation giving everyone a warp in point. After that went down just as everyone got in I went and grabbed my astarte and everyone on vent was saying that the enemy cap fleet was leaving and if we are going to do this 2 bait carrier thing that somebody better get in there fast. So I ran into Indre, warped to the falcon and charged whatever I could then the cyno was lit. Altho tryin to run to accounts at once for this prolly wasnt my best idea. The first carrier in and also first dead: Reinerd Mau was me too. In the end I would say it was well worth losing 2 commands and a thanny for a fight like that around here. Zooming around after in my nanotar locking people down was pretty fun id say.
Props to everyone who brought it today. Id love to see engagements like that in low sec more often. and im not sure why this post was under my crap alts name...

All the recaps sound about right. Engagement 1: Invicta "it's a tarp" Fleet: "lets send in battleships and see what happens when it triggers"
Engagement 2: once again I am secondary or tertiary.. not sure and lose my dread =/
Seriously people there are other people in perfectly good dreads, shoot theirs why is it always me?

I also want to give props to the BYDI guys for coming back to the battlefield even though we knew they wouldn't bait us with 2 thanatos unless they knew they enough caps to take us. We wanted a fight, and we definatly got one. I got out of there by the hair on my chin.

yeah props to bydi, we were slightly lucky imho that they blew their hotdrop load in the first engagement, if only 2-4 caps jumped in initially, we would have moved ours in, at which point we were carrier heavy and would have gotten spanked, so mix of a little bit of over-excitement from BYDI and luck from us.
As probably my last decent fight before i leave, like to thank you guys for making it a good one. Specifically kudos to your alt falcons who kept me jammed, very frustrating with the warp in, jam, warp out, before our support could get ontop of you

The one carrier who jumped in during fight #1 was a little premature. We were getting massive lag and there was a bit of confusion on coms as to the composition of your capital forces. All of our caps apart from that one carrier held back and didn't jump. How he got out, I do not know... though he was one of the carriers we lost in the second engagement.
By the way... This whole thing, from local chat over the last few days, to the tone of this thread, has been like a breath of fresh air :) Props to all concerned.

Yeah on the first engagement we had a carrier jump in prematurely after we saw your dread count and canceled the counter drop as it was a need moar dreadz situation, you would of walked on our cap fleet if we sent what we had. The OMFG get out escape cyno was done by yours truely he had an angel on his shoulder to be able to escape that mess. he probably got out because you guys didn't notice him and a good portion of dumb luck.

Everyone smacks from time to time, but usually its opponents that won't leave dock range and concider that skill that brings the smack talk. I could think of a list of corps that I would launch in to smack talk against just because they are there, BYDI isn't one of them.

AS i have always said, a good opponent creates awesome and smack free fights.. There is a difference in people..Invicta/ABP is skilled and enjoys a good fight and takes the win as real winners..
If this fight was vs a mid sized carebear alliance that sent in all caps they had we would in some cases seen OMGRARRRRWS **** AND BBQ YOU GOT PWNT in local instead of GF guys..
And that is a smack button..

Ugluuk talking abut a smack free fight as if bidi aint smacktards, lolz, must have been too busy getting owned to rant in local then
lolz.
Why does this guys anger lead me to believe he is someone who has been owned by BYDI one too many times.

The fight in my eyes
After many minutes of preparing and an emo rage of epic proportions from tom about how hot dropped we were about to be, BYDI bs's stopped hopping safe spots so quickly, and our rapier/damnation as our smallest gang mates got initial tackle with our bs fleet of 13 30 a.u. behind.
FIGHT 1
Our initial strategy was to engage the similar sized bs bydi fleet with carriers on standby to counter whatever hot drop they may have been bringing.
After one battleship kill, the bydi cyno was lit... and from it descended 4 carriers and 6 dreadnaughts. Overviews un-updated and only seeing 2 hostile carriers on grid, our cyno is lit. But only one carrier is actually dumb enough to jump in. unable to break hostile battleships rr tank our silly carrier warps out with the rest of our fleet which has sustained minimal losses. 4bs 1 cs lost 1 bs killed ____
With hostile dreads in siege, and having seen the actual size of bydi's capital fleetą secondary and tertiary cynos are brought online. Carriers swap out to dreads, abp is given the call, and half of our support fleet boardsĘ tackler ships.
Fight 2
30 seconds after all hostile capitals have jumped out. Finally ready; the first of our few support hit the grid. A megathron, damnation, astarte, and crow. Tacklers are made, and the bait cyno is lit. 2 carriers jump through.
Our cyno falcon is killed.
All dreadnaughts have been told to fit for range.
Hostile capitals jump in, again 4 carriers strong and 6 dreads strong, to be soon joined by a 7th mid fight.
Our backup cyno is in warp 30 seconds later in a glorious kestrel. Lighting the cyno, 35km from the hostile capital fleet enters our 3rd carrier and 7 dreadnaughts.
Outnumbered support wise 3 to 1, the playing field is kept even by our capital fleet's distance.
Our fast support concentrated on keeping hostile carriers tackled, and knocking the 4 hostile falcons off grid to keep our points live.
Without enough rr support invicta suffers the loss of 2 carriers and a dreadnaught. As well as a cs, a recon, and another bs.
As hostile capitals start to drop one after another more backup starts arriving in the form of support, and an extra carrier.
the fight ends with only one hostile thanatos, and a large portion of the hostile bs fleet escaping.
Before us lay the wrecks of 6 battleship, 6 dreadnaughts, and 2 carriers. most notably the brave moros pilot Villwrath who stormed into battle in his moros wielding 4 t2 expanded cargoholds, clearly intent on carrying enough stront for his fleet to last until downtime.
I spent fight 1 in a typhoon, and after witnessing the poor fps, i swapped to my crow to keep ugluuks thanatos tackled for the remainder of fight 2.
It was absolutely great, lots of fun, and props to everyone. Overall stats: ABP Losses: 2x bs, 1x moros, 1x kestrel Invicta losses: 3x bs, 1x moros, 2x carriers, 2x cs, 1x recon =5x bs, 2x dreads, 2x carriers, 2x cs 1x recon, 1x frigate BYDI n palĘs losses: =6x bs, 6x dreadnaughts, 2x carriers, 3x recons 1x bc

At risk of seeming like I'm picking holes... I'm going to pick holes. I don't intend this as criticism or complaint, I just like setting facts straight.
As far as I'm aware, we had 3 carriers in the 2nd fight, one having logged after the 1st. It was also 5 dreads with a 6th showing up later.
I'm also absolutely positive that our support didn't outnumber yours 3 to 1. We may have had slightly more at the start, but you had reinforcements arriving constantly and people who lost their ships returning in new ones as we were right next to your home system. |

Edited by: Ricky Baby on 14/10/2008 00:41:26 Ill say again, Good fight. yes we did outnumber BYDI in capitals from the get go, yes we may have had more support, but we did not outnumber them to the degree BYDI seems to make out. we had a lot of members that came back into the fight as we were close to our base systems. i came back in my carrier after my moros popped for one. ill ask what fight in eve is 100% equal or fair? really it was amazing the we were so equally matched at all.
all that really matters is both sides had fun, pew pew commenced in a timely fashion and ships went pop.
Grats to BYDI for bringing it.

Wonderful Video, I loved watching it. Ive got a question though, Justin SKullys Phoenix appeared to be tanking quite well at 3:40 into the video, but then all of a sudden went down.
Was this lack of cap, overloading burning out your booster, or just too much enemy firepower being sent to you, ???
Just asking so I can optimise my Phoenix fitting hopefully, and pray for a battle as even as that one .
