why wasnt this stated in any of the posts informing us of "ghost training removal"
my beef with this is now gone, apart from the "twas a bug" when its blatantly in your player guide as a feature
dont lie tell truth
Was blatantly in the player guide as a feature it's gone now
But yeah theres more solid info on the change in this thread then in over 100 posts on the other 2 but since there just being ignored and keeping the plebs from scaring ppl in the normal forums meh.
If Goons AND BoB are agreeing with each other that your idea is stupid, it's probably stupid.

We are working with our billing services partners to address this issue which is being caused by server issues on their end of the pipe and thereby beyond our control. They have assured us that they are doing all they can to get things working properly. We'll keep checking back with them and update you as information becomes available.

I bought a GTC to reactivate an account , i understand what youve said above , but do the gtc`s actually run out , so basically do GTC`s have to be put on, in a certain amount of time or do they last forever and i can put the code in when i want ?
Bought 1 about 3 hours ago ... so just checking its still valid and i havent wasted my rl money

The GTC represents game time, I'm not entirely sure if there are any such limits or not but if you have any problems you should create a petition and ask the GMs about it.

Let's see. You do a move that makes about half of the alt-holders in Eve want to cancel their accounts.
You lie about the reasons for it, and your ninja-edit your own website to remove the proof.
Then when people want to cancel, the site is suddenly and mysteriously "down", and they'll have to file a petition into your already overloaded and overworked Customer Support system to even try to stop paying you.
Nice.
What's next, charging us after we cancel? Oh, right, I've already seen complaints on that too. --------

Hyperbole. Learn it, love it, live it.
But I think there is no question that a lot of alt holders are very unhappy right now. Whether they will cancel...I don't know. I'm certainly not going to reactivate one of my alts now. Whether they want to, just to hurt CCP...yeah, there's a lot of those. --------

'A lot' is a pretty vague quantity, but suffice it to say that I'm an alt holder, and I don't care
I expect CCP to lose some intermittent accounts because of this, and gain some permanent accounts, but I don't think it's as doom and gloom as everyone is making it out to be. The majority of people will probably not care either way, as they oft do __________

What superb timing - firstly you stop 'ghost training' Then people who want to extend their gametime so this dosn't affect them csn't do it due to the scure system being a mess.
Hope some people see the irony here

If you really want to cancel your account, call the bank and tell them to reject all transactions with CCP. Or tell them to cancel your credit card and issue a new one.

What's most interesting is that about three hours of game time have been removed from my account. It was scheduled to run out at 15:03:12 GMT tomorrow, but my subscription details now lists 12:00:00 GMT.
I'm not really buying the whole billing service provider stuff.

Okay following story: Account payment via direct debit, transaction failed due insufficent funds but there was more than enough money on that bank account, no more payment via dd possible.
Happend to a friend of mine a few days ago, petition is still in queue from all I know. Is that a related problem to the issus with the billing service provider? Because if it is, we can calm down a bit and wait for the issue beeing fixed and can stop devoloping conspiracy theories involving anyone from the CIA over CCP to serveral governments and back to some strange aliens from a planet nobody ever heard before.
PS: That's why a billing service provider should not hire minmatar slave to maintain their servers (sell them hamsters) :P |

Jeez, now you resort to locking people out and billing them? Good work at low-blows, and do something else while your down there!

That actually wouldn't work, I've had my credit card expire as they do from time to time, and have never had to update anything, they have still been able to take the money from the new issue without any troubles..... Not sure if thats legal to be honest.

First off I want to say if any GM's are reading this, don't feel you have to read the entire thing, just the last paragraph is the main point. The rest is extra.
Just another way that CCP is trying to bugfix before adding features. Instead of giving people INCENTIVE by adding skill queues to only active accounts, they nerf something that people have used for ages.
Since the emorage is too much for me on the other thread, I'm going to post probably the most important information on the subject here.
First off, you won't see subscriptions drop immediately. You'll see it over the course of a year. You'll see it more when people come back and find out they still have 30 days, 60 days, 90 days left of training to do. You'll see it when people stop their year's subscription. You'll see a lot of short-term cashflow due to character transfers to main accounts but after that, it won't be as profitable. You'll see people who are in the military forget playing the game since they're at war and they don't have anything to come back to that has progressed - people don't want the same old grind, they want to be refreshed with something new. You have just removed one of the biggest features to people who casually play eve online. The parent who is a truck driver, the student who doesn't have time for eve and school (I've seen that) - they will cancel.
Eve would have lost its uniqueness to other games. There are other space sims out there and more in the works. Even people who do not use the feature feel betrayed. That is something that is very difficult to shake free from. If you want more customers, you better continue to do massive ad campaigns like you did in the months past, for new members because you will lose your current ones. I'm not upset, I'm just telling you the facts. Close to 150 pages of controversy over this is only what you see. A classic example in business is that for every 1 member you have feedback from, there's 10 others that feel the same way. Take that into account when you see the account activity numbers going down. This was in effect due to timecard prices going up - and that's fine, don't get me wrong. Economic times are hard, but to use a false pretense for including something is just bad business sense. People aren't stupid and they feel like they've been insulted.
You are using vinegar when you should be using honey to attract customers. Work on content rather than worry about fairness. Right now bugfixes should not be your main concern, and I think that some people may be too focused on that. Seriously, consider the example of the speed patch. The speed patch was there to "increase fairness and balance" .. In essence what really happened was slowing down ships so that missiles could kill them - that is a tactic to get more timecard selling, and I understand that. Still, if the game engine was really to blame, missiles should also have been nerfed proportionately, but they weren't, were they? Really, what you are trying to do is make isk selling less appealing, and that too I understand, but understand that all that will happen is isk sellers will increase capacity due to increased demand, and will you sell more timecards? I doubt it. In essence what you will be doing is just feeding chinese farmers and macro miners (like you've already made empire a haven for macro miners by increasing concord's effectiveness). If that's what you want, that's fine, but smoke and mirrors will not help your cause, and will just cause resentment among the eve community.
So what am I really saying? Im saying that Your approach to the cash crunch is going in the wrong direction. Immediate action is needed to make customers feel like you are continuing to be loyal and responsive to their needs. Add more ships, like the orca, add other functionality in the game like active account SP learning queues-inactive doesn't get this. If you keep stripping what people see as selling points from the game you will have nothing to sell

Our Secure site is back up and running, subscribing, re-subscribing and unsubscribing should work fine at this time, but please make sure you let us know if you have any problems with it, and also make sure you create a petition so the GMs can help you with any issues that you may have.

I just wonder if all the whinners are mature people, or just kids complaining, on the wrong thread, about how they think CCP should run their own ("OWN") business. Complainers should invent their own game.
I am happy about the service, and the concern the dev team gives on the issues.
So thanks for the serivce.
