I've been running a Federation Navy agent of quality 15 for a while - My standing with this agent is 5.89 but she's never given me an implant.
Is it a good bet that I'm not going to get one?

I got my first implant from the Caldari Navy last night from a courier mission, at 8.74 corp standing. The agent gave me 80% kill normal missions. Theres still a chance for you yet. |

I've still never ever had an implant mission. OK, so I do mainly kill missions but with the number I've done I'd have expected at least one somewhere.
Ho hum, I'll keep at it. One will drop eventually.

Got my first implant from a Kaalikiota agent last week. Quality level -7, effective quality 4 with my social skills. I almost fainted. It was a neural booster, +3 to willpower, I believe. I went ahead and popped that bad boy into my skull. The next one goes on the market though -In space, no one can hear you whine |

There is a huge amount of luck involved, read the implant threads to see what formulas they use to determine it.
Surfice to say, train social to lvl 4, negotiations to lvl 4 and connections to lvl 4 and you will shorten the time required to get important missions, and hence implants. Of course, this is beside the fact that you could just be obscenely unlucky and not get one for 80+ missions.

best advise is to find an agent that give vast majority of kill type missions so you can do more missions, quickly

maybe it has something to do with agents giving a fixed amount of implants, hence popular agents=no implants. Or it could be fixed number of implants per corporation or even fixed implants/region.
It has to be something like that. The prices reaching ~same prices is some indication to that.

Feta are you suggesting market tampering?

She's suggesting that there might be (daily/weekly/monthly??) implant quotas, i.e a certain, fixed number of implants is made available to each agent for a certain amount of time, to be given out to us. If/when that quota is exceeded, then the agent stops giving out those implants...

I've now finally had my first implant.
Surprisingly, it was dropped when I Avenged a Fallen Comrade. I know this happens occasionally but I wasn't expecting it
