I think its bullshit....I have a second account and i was going to let him expire due to recent financial issues. And now due to this he will expire and prob. never be brought back to life. He will KEEP all of his stuff just to take up room on a server some where in some desperate attempt to get back at CCP for swinging there nerf bat out of control..whats next, going to take our other 2 alts on our main, or better yet make you pay for 3 accounts and only train one at a time?

Not lying.

You see no problem with using a bug as a selling point? Let's say that that is actually what it is, a bug, if it is something you intend to disable why would you put it on your page (and in bold) talking about how skills work in eve? That speaks of underhandedness, lying, etc.

Exactly my point. I posted on the ghost training blog how this along with other past indiscretions shook my faith in the very base of CCPs company: it's ethics. That is why I'm leaving. It's just too infuriating to see this go on without saying something or in the words of my opposition "emo".

It ws never a selling point, it was in the player guide to show "this is how it is", now that it isn't anymore, it's not.
It's not on any promo videos, no guides(sold guides not "info on how training works"), no game boxes etc.
Noone in CCP went to E3 and said "Oh and you can train while inactive!".
People seem to ignore this little tidbit.
And...erm...now people are agreeing it was a bug?

Well I don't want any torchings. That being said it would be nice to see a focus on issues in game that actually matter. This ghost training thing is just so transparent (no pun intended) it hurts. It is scary that I was investing so much of my time and $$ in a company I feel is not a responsible one.

It was a selling point. It may have not been in videos about the game BUT it was on the page (in bold, you must have forgotten) declaring how eve was different form all the other MMOs because it allowed you to train skills while not logged in AND on inactive accounts. That IS a selling point. Also, I know it is hard but follow me here; your last point stating that I am agreeing it is a bug is false. It should be clear to you, by now, that I do not believe it to be a bug. I believe it to be a feature purposefully added in the beginning of the game that is withdrawn to increase revenue. got it? I hope so because i am getting tired of correcting you.

Only place where it was, was on the player guide, and it said "skills will continue training while the account goes inactive".
It was never said "This game is unique because it allows you to train with inactive accounts".
It was a simple fact, now it isn't, so they remove it.
It was said, this game is unique for letting you train off-game.
That is all that is, and nothing more.
People made this into a treacherous lie, simple and clear.

Edited by: Tykkis on 14/10/2008 19:24:38 EVE player base won't be affected much but the peeps owning 2 or more accounts will probably cancel many of them.
I can understand some may feel cheated, but you really can't ask to be playing/progressing without paying. EVE still gives players option to play without cash by timecards.

Isn't this dangerously close to lying? Is that ok to you? Does this mean they will lie about other things? Past evidence says they have, they are, and that means to me... they will more. Discuss
Well my oh my, it's gone from "lying and treachery!" to "dangerously close to lying".
I bet soon it's "poor pr" and then "well i wish they would've been more nice about it, but i love 'em"
Iiiiin any case, question remains, why here if cancelled?
Gosh, 2 different people saying slightly different things. Remarkable.

Tbh, I strongly suspect many of those ragequitting were just looking for a reason to move on and now they have it.
As I said once before ...
Companies lie, naive EVE players shocked, News at 11.
Hmm, maybe I should make that a sig ...

Even if they have only 3 isk.
And you can take this post as a verbal/literal/whatever agreement.

If only there were still 30-day GTCs, I'd accept a pair of those.
EDIT: actually, I'd accept 1 60-day.

Funny how your so stupid you make a comment like that well either stupid or clueless about how the billing system works because when you cancel CCCP doesn't pony up your remaining balance and cancel your account straight away it like all subscription service cancels it on the date of your next renewal (for me another 55 days away) will I log in occasionally between now and then? yes will I continue my subscription after that hell no.
IF there is any effect to sucriber numbers I imagine it will be 2-3 months down the line and even then will be offset by the holiday surge so CCP will be able to claim that everything is hunky dory.
CCP - You are now entering the twilight zone where bugs are features and features are bugs |

Back down on your offer? What? Where? I'm perfectly happy to trade you everything on both accounts for a single 60-day GTC (which can be applied to my main account, so I can use the money I save to resub the 2 alts)
And it would get you T2 ships, faction gear, millions of ISK.

Heh, original offer was to send you 30 euros. For your other accounts
But it's pointless, as CCP wouldn't allow it i believe.

I won't have anything more to do with this Kaupthing in space.
Other char expires this night. Want an irony. This one on first of January.
The game and policies are too unstable. Too risky to spend any more Ç on this.
Now we'll finally be able to see how inflated the subscriptions number was.
