If you go to EVEMon you will find it says
1,580,483 Accounts
I would guess this includes ALL accounts created including trial
as for the ratio i would have no idea tbh and unique pilots.. i would have to say maybe 30k give or take

Give or take about an order of magnitude. 30k individuals would put us at about 10 accounts/person. That's not right -- I only knew of one guy like that. And there aren't that many farmers with 20+ accounts.
I'd say 50-60% alts sounds about right. Two accounts is the norm for a vast majority of people I interact with. The occasional single-accounter is more than compensated by the sweatshops (personal or traditional) others are running.
Problem is, these numbers may be correct one month but utterly useless the next if changes like GTC and 'bug fix' become commonplace.
Indeed good point i said without truely thinking but i wouldn't put it over your percentage tbh the majority of players seem to have second characters so makes it a good estimate
And while these things don't bother me due to the factor of I'm too young to realize what money is worth i do think that such changes like the upcoming Ghost fix is gonna kill alot of the player base and its a terrible idea (not saying this just because I've used it i honestly think that)

Great promotion, small number of accounts. You'd think that most alt accounts would be P2 accounts, but they aren't.

Thats because alot of people cant afford to be on credit cards or just plainly realize that they are bad and can get you in alot of debt that you will quickly be unable to get out of if you are not careful
hence why the majority pay by ETC if you cant afford it thats just it, you cant afford it
