yeah... it wouldn't be too hard to have missiles hit realistically, or to have more than like 3 to 4 gun hit spots displayed on a given ship, doing level 4's and having 30 rats all hitting your myrmidon at the bottom part is just dumb. step 1: make guns and hull damage fire more interesting. step 2: make missiles and probes have launcher modules. freelancer did it. step 3: make missile hits occluded by ships. step 4: stop using a skybox, or make them dynamic at least.

They're already planning to redo all the game's effects, including weapon effects. It'll just take a while.

'Continuations of the massive Trinity graphics update' was just announced as part of the next expansion. Linkage
Only time will tell whether missile hardpoints will be a part of it.

One for the wish list...
native support for Anti Aliasing... c'mon guys games far older than this have that kind of support.
BTW if you use an Nvidia card you can enable AA with the tool Nhancer ... the game looks lovely at 16xAA :)
Also, whats wrong with sky boxes? They cut down on the amount of processing, which can then be used for more improtant graphical elements, and in a game set in space hardly detract from the realism... D.

Highly unlikely since ships were already done. On the to do list they posted at the time they said planets, moons and special effects and the models that weren't ships or stations.

Jepp, should be all the mission and complex stuff etc. Aswell as POS structures hopefully. Moons, Planets.
And.. oh boy oh boy.. god forbid to even hope it will also be the system backgrounds. THAT would be most awesome.
