A super duper 8 strip miners of doom high sec capitol ship miner would be the death blow to mining, Currently a Hulk is the only really profitable mining platform and it does take time for a dedicated miner to be in a position to fly and afford to buy it and until then they have to scratch out a meager living with mining cruisers and retrievers and if a ship comes along that could dwarf even the Hulk the pittance starting out miners earn would be reduced even more by the older characters with the uber roid pwner of doom and I'm betting many would give mining up as a bad job and start training for ravens and drakes.
As a pvper with a dedicated hauling alt I would really like to see the orca with a SMA so I could move rigged pvp ships around easily.

That sounds like an excellent reason to implement it this way, veteran miners can continue to mine and newbies won't start mining as they'll make nothing, ensuring veteran miners like me can make even more isk.

NO WAI! They can? Damnit I have been flying a freighter for like 8 months and didn't think about doing this...
Will it work with a BS or is that too big for the courier limit?

What do yall think the skill requirements of the Orca will be? Guess wisely, guess well.
Oh, and I will predict that either people will use it in an unintended way that annoys the devs and it will get nerfed. Or it'll come pre-nerfed (God I hate that term/idea/strategem) and no-one will use it anyway.
But I may be a bit too negative today.

From a selfish "I want it all" perspective sure its excellent, but from a game design and balance perspective it sucks.

The only real thing i saw about the orca (pictures of the fitting on Eve-Files) is that it only has 4 high slots.
It uses a capital tractor beam, reconfiguration module, and mining links.
so with only 4 highslots something gets left out.
highly annoying IMO

I'd guess the same requirements as the Rorqual, without the jump drive skills.

Meh I can live with 1 tractor, 1 salvager, and 2 miners as long as I can haul cans from space and as long as it has a huge cargo bay (like 150k+). If the dev indications are correct that it'll fill the need between an indy and a freighter, then that's what I'd expect.
