Flying an abbadon with low skills is a one way ticket to a pretty explosion.
Anyway Rep systems mechanic hull upgrades armor compensations (em therm kin explo)
Armor compensation can come after the first 3 are lvl 4 and preferably 5.

Edited by: Strill on 17/10/2008 03:15:49 If you plan to use armor repairers then get energy management and energy systems operation so you have enough cap to run them. For pve you'll probably want to use cap recharger IIs so you need energy grid upgrades 3 for those.
If you plan on using Energized adaptive nano membrane IIs then get the armor compensation skills up so you get more resists from them.
You might also consider armor rigging.
Oh and the abaddon gets a bonus to its armor resistances for each level in amarr battleship. At level 5 it makes your hp and armor reppers 33% more effective.
List of modules you should aim to be able to use for armor tanking:
Small/Medium/Large Armor Repairer II (for pve usually) Cap Recharger II (for pve) Explosive/Kinetic/Thermic/EM Hardener II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II ____mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates (PVP)

The skills I listed are the only skills that directly effect armor tanking. As the guy above me said, you will need cap skills to active tank, but straight up armor skills will allow you to make the most awesome active tank you can.

Edited by: fivetide humidyear on 17/10/2008 08:44:08 amarr battleship 5 would help boost it's tank too (for the abaddon)
active tanking is using armour reppers and resist mods like detailed above which is cap intensive and better for PVE, long PVP fights. Passive armourtanking is loading up on plates, resist mods and definitely a damage control II and hoping your tank outlasts the opposition.
generally passive tanking is better for pvp.
