No one I know plays in premium. At least not anyone who PvPs. Better graphics aren't really gonna be something I'll use as long as I'm in 0.0. I still don't know what most of my ships look like in premium. --

IE EVE classic is still around. Don't expect 64 anytime soon. MAYBE when the numbers of users on classic go down then they might consider dropping classic and making a 64 bit option. As it is EVE already supports Apple Linux Windows Direct-x 8 (Classic) Direct-x 9 (Premium)

Erm.. depends on your machine. I got massive performance problems in fleets no matter what client I use. It's a lagged/server based problem. If you got a decent machine it makes no different. I for my part used to pvp with premium client I only switch to classic if I've to run 2 accounts at the same time but that's only because my ram sucks big time. In fact I got a much more smoother gameplay with the premium client (except for stations somehow but who the hell cares about station insides)

U have to remenber that most of the lag ppl think is due to there machine rather than the server. Yes everyone laggs to deaf in massive pvp fights but u should expect that (what i saying is that using prem over classic doesn't make a differnce). Also it does make a difference i've just upgraded to a skulltrail system from an average quad core and it made a huge difference in fleet fights yes a still get a little lag (but that just depends if u havent contacted CCP before the fleet fight(yes i know thats a pretty rare situation when u know where the fight happens but it still happens.)

Because when you use the classic graphics in a 1000+ fleet battle, you can really notice the difference in the slideshow. I mean, banking... in space! and why exactly does my ship slow down just because the thrusters stop firing... shouldn't the ship have to apply thrust to slow down as well as accelerate? No matter how pretty the graphics, this element will always make the game feel a little clumsy and un-sophisticated... good kjob it has enough plus points to make up for it :) D.

If they wanted to make it realistic it wouldn't be fun u'd run out of fuel in ever system. Also banking is possible in space infact its easier in space. However all these things weren't put in for the simple reason of whats the point.

Yea have to agree that is irony at it's best but what i was implying is that anybody who is using classic who can't run prem graphics are morons cause obvioulsy u haven't built it right cause even a 4 year old pc with a 6000 series card can run prem (my brother is running it at 1900 by 1000 with my old athlon 64 with its crappy 6600 gt inside yet it still has no problems). So if u have a pc that is younger than that and can't run it then u r a moron who doesn't realise that a graphics card matters.

Sorry EVERYONE cant spend amount of $$ like you to get 1337 computer like you. Tho when Users have more than 3 accounts It's a bit much for the PC not to run Classic. I have 3 account and I need classic so It run smooth. My PC not Crap it's Pretty dam good pc for what I have. So please cut the BS talk right there. I know a few people who play in both clients. Depend what you use it for. btw dude whats ur system specs aslong as ur pc isn't stone age u should be able to run 3 client at once hell done it with my bros pc with next to no extra lag. Also remenber to turn off cache that does help alot.

If "PC Lag" is a problem for you or you want to run multiple clients then you can run classic if you want. I wasn't asking for any game mechanics to change ... just the visuals (in fact I wasn't even askign for these to change, just asking why they were done wrong in the first place, when attention to detail is so evident elsewhere). Graphics should really have shown things like, when a ship slows down a thruster has to fire in the opposite direction, when a ship turns it needs to use directional thrusters. Banking is not easier in space, in atmosphere banking only occurs becuase it is the natural movement of the aircraft as the wing flaps catch the air and turn it (and I think gravity has a part to play as well.. not much of that in the middle of space ;)... in space the only way to turn is by using thrusters, if a spaceship wanted to bank it would have to use more thrusters to induce rotation around its length, then yet more thrust to stop this spin, it's possible of course, its just very very pointless... and frankly just looks like the graphics department didn't bother doing any research. The point would have been to make the game look better, it didn't need to affect the gameplay at all. I'm not one to push realism over gameplay, I'd rather have the gameplay, but such simple obvious oversights tend to annoy me a bit (not much, but enough to bother posting about). D.

Suffice to say, some people swear by classic graphics for what they do with their particular setup of equipment, others swear by premium. I myself fall into the later category, as premium graphics tends to run very smoothly for me indeed. Any lag issues I have had in large battles had nothing to do with the quality of my graphics settings... and thanks to the recent rollbacks I have had the oportunity to test that theory a few times when trying to log back in and operate under heavy lag conditions. So yes, the further work on graphics will apparently take place on all of the non-ship items in game. Fair enough. A prettier game is always a plus (I've always been a sucker for eye candy). And I to would like the higher end graphics options to include being able to turn on or off graphics options like "manuvering/braking thruster" graphics much like the fighters currently use (although it would be nice if the effects weren't totally random like they are on the fighters.. thats fine for fighters but would take away any realism gains if it were done randomly on actual ships).

Never really noticed a change for better or worse vis-a-vis game performance, and when things are slow (read: camping stations) I can zoom in and go 'ooooh, ahhhhhh' at the shiny.

Your condescending attitude is very insulting to people like me... You know, thats great that your daddy bought you an amazing computer. But I'm 19 and work a minimum wage job when I'm not at college. I'm lucky I can play eve at all. tl;dr, stop being an ass and think of people other than yourself. On topic... the Devs have stated that new textures will be introduced and old ones will be improved, and also that "Plants will be prettier than ever!" I for one am very excited to see planets that look like planets. POS textures will be new, and missile/turret effects will be updated. It will look like an entirely new game from last year. EDIT: I use an ATI HD 2600 I bought last year. Prem graphics run well beneath "high" shadows. I turn shadows and HDR off for pvp.
