I got back from weekend away and slipped into a comfortable battleship and went up to Venal to join a RKK gang for general patrol and PA hunting. Mostly of course we found nothing beyond a few cruisers to kill that were swiftly despatched and we must have travelled 30 odd jumps round the sights in a vain search for mayhem. Anyhow, back in 6NJ we finally got a fight and engaged a more or less equal force in a running battleship engagement between jamming and counterjamming focused capital ships. On the whole it was entertaining and lasted for a while and I got to fire a lot of torps and cruise missiles while we chased (and were chased in turn) round the planets. We scored a cruiser kill then suffered a battleship casualty and then were increasingly outgunned and though we tried pretty hard to even the score against an enemy Armaggedon we eventually withdrew (since it was about 5 in the morning UK time and we were all now cycle jammable by the enemy forces). Local afterwards was mutual respect and "good game", "nice fighting" etc etc. Everyone had tried pretty hard and fairly, and it was a decent honest combat. Then GODS arrived in local and started the forum smack talk. Lol, these guys had not even been involved in the fighting and here they were cruising into system to deliver the smack dosage like the kings of the world or something. If it hadn't been so sad it would have been funny ;) And this Presidio and Stoop is the problem with your corp in my opinion. And its the wider problem with the PA on the whole I think. You guys do have some decent member corps and some decent members obviously, but they are pretty much humilated and smeared by the actions of talentless mouthy alts and no-account wastrels. I actually have reasonable conversations with some PA, yet its the "mr late and missed all the fighting but feel they have a right to talk utter rubbish" brigade that run your politics and PR campaign on the whole. All mouth and no action. I am guessing that in the heart of hearts of many PA they will actually be grateful when this is finally over and the PA admits it is finished because they will at last get to remove the "PA tag" in the corp description that binds their name and reputation to the conduct of disreputable elements and yahoo boys. Still, until that happens I am going to try my best to remember that some in the PA do just fight without the insulting and lame no-substance smacktalk and regardless of appalling affiliation with embarrassing allies these fellows may not be 100% bad. Lets just hope that some brave decisions get made in the weeks to come and decent guys realise that a lost cause is not worth bartering their souls for a few more hours of halflife and faint resistance. They are no longer in control of Venal. The arrogance of their own alliance has destroyed them. Had they chosen to deal with the CDI problem none of this would have happened. They brought this upon themselves. Shortly we will be moving friendly corporations into venal to mine and NPC hunt. There are NPC stations here, plenty of roids to pop and atm with the NPC's the way they are... plenty of bounties and loot to be gained.
