Flippin hell Jaabaa still bouncing about eh? Dont think ive bumped into you since the OC Duke Droclar days. Not that you got on that well with him, but its nice to see some old CA guys around. Some of the old corps in CA are still living and breathing and i think it really shows that alot of the guys in the CA were really great guys who played the game for the experiances they gained rather then to Win eve with x amount of isk.
In a way i miss the old days but im sure if i went back to the lag infested servers i would disagree. Anyone who says servers arent approaving just ask any of the CA guys. We had to ask SA to bring only 20 pilots to HLW and you know whats great... they did and we didnt screw them, ah i miss those days. That and the bug where you could instant warp by mwding during loading.

Finally a post that isn't riddled with previous WoW player whines.
I completely and utterly approve of this post! Thank you CCP!
Balance is important, but you will always adapt to changing circumstances and you don't whine about stuff you can't change. |

Did I just devalue your e-Peen ?
Originally by: CrayC Besides being able to remember CA, SA, PA and actually know who is in the "etc." part, of course.
Yeah, I'm an oldtimer too and not going anywhere
Yeah, LV was great too, nice to see that you are still around mate.
Originally by: s73v3n2k Been playing for 5 yrs too it would seem and wouldn't give up eve for another game. I know both jaabaa Prime from my days in -LV- and think CrayC used to do something for eve-radio at one point.
How time flies and oh do things change.
How time flies indeed. Long time no see or hear, glad to see that you are still in game

Yeah, its been a while. And the Duke and I *did* have our differences but it never stopped us all fighting together.

I think that a lot of the "old corps" and their members (of days gone by) are still in the game because its the sandbox that it is. I know that RA (and maybe TCF) are CA's spawn, I wonder how many of the current alliances are actually the result of our original player alliances (before CCP added the things like alliance chat and the oh so dreaded POS wars).
Originally by: Hellspawn666 In a way i miss the old days but im sure if i went back to the lag infested servers i would disagree. Anyone who says servers arent approaving just ask any of the CA guys.
I miss the old days because of the way we played, the honour that was involved and the way we all just got together to do something, even if it was the alliance mining op to replace the BSs we had lost in the previous week.
Do you also remember that there were no specialised people in any op ? We were all combat pilots and had to be able to switch out for a mining ship to a PvP ship in system, just in case SA (or who ever felt lucky) came for a visit ?

Enemies that we could trust to keep to their word, yes, a long time ago that is..

Four years, eight months this weekend. Still ticking along. Been in a bit of a slump for most of this year but I have plans to change that. Got a load of money in my wallet and an alt ready to slap people in low-sec. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Hey Jaabaa,
old man you've become :) still remember you from LV as well. Fun times in the past. But still I believe there are fun times ahead in eve.
We'll probably still play eve even we have the glass for our teeth right besides us and a capital fleet battle will bring us close to heart attack ^^
Hope you are doing well and Yes, I endorse this statement: "Thanks CCP for a great game!"
See you on the battle field

Yeah that's been my problem this year. Things got busy at work. A long term in-game partnership drifted apart (still can't quite figure that one out but I hope to revive part of it with my alt). Lastly as I grow older I find it harder to justify playing any computer game. I'm becoming increasingly aware of how much more there is to do in RL and how much more meaningful it is.
But I've been subscribing too long now. I want to see what happens next and I like being rich and overskilled -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

Originally by: Jaabaa Prime Hi
After all these years of EVE (since release, so over 5 years) I can truly say that even though years have gone by, that you guys are great.
This isn't a FanBoi post about CCP, but more about the people that I have fought with, against, in corp wars or in alliances, and learned to respect (and hate, with a vengeance) over the years (and yes, there are some players that I respect even though I hate them).
For the new players and your SP ... ? I'll give you a tip, a lot of us old farts have SP invested all over the place.
So when some one says 90 mil SP, say "OK". I've been killing and (or?) PvPing since release, and I an only heading towards 75 mil SP.
So, SP isn't everything, but the people that you play with now, if you can find them in 5 years are really old friends.
I salute all of the old CA, SA, PA, etc.
May you all fly safely, be you friend or foe over the years, but in RL I can only consider you all to have been friends, as in friends of EVE.
So fly safely you EVE pod pilots (as long as you don't meet my -10.0 ass in low sec).
Thanks CCP, for a great game, and please, please, don't nerf it to hell because the majority of the vocal player base doesn't even know what a <= 0.4 security system is.
As an old member of the CA i support this and quite frankly could not of said it better.

Pfft. Its low sec with 4 times the node power than 0.0. If you can't get your pod out even in a largish fight then maybe its time to upgrade your computer to something that won't client lag with 300 in the grid.
