ENGAGEMENT LINK Most accurate killboard^^
First things first
The United brought a roaming gang around the Fribrodi pocket with around 12 people. They had a bunch of battlecruisers and by the time we had a gang on the move they had come back to Hagilur. We met them on the Bei gate and killed an Armageddon while the rest had warped off to Thelan. We regrouped and got more people in gang while they went to Rancer and did the same.
The stand off
We got our gang into Thelan and began waiting on the Miroitem gate. The bl3h/Neo gang was reported at 20 battleships. With only around 10 or 11 of our own battleships at that time, we recruited the help of 4 or 5 Roids 'R Us members that just happened to be in local. A few more people logged on and made their way to Thelan, we even managed to get Nikita Bordinko to log on at work just as he was about to leave to go home. That's right, 'dinko stayed an extra hour and a half at work dodging co-workers to play internet spaceships.
The initial fight:
Originally by: MLTOV/ROIDS 15x BS 3x Recons (2x Falcon) 2x Command ships 1x Battlecruiser
Originally by: BL3H/Neo Spartans 23x Battleships 2 or 3x Recons (Falcons)
And there was a FIRE FIGHTTTTT!
We sat on the gate for a good 45 minutes (I blame Colubra for taking a huge dump) with neither side making a move. We finally said "**** it" and put our falcons through the gate to get into position. Once they were ready, we scooped our drones and jumped.
They had an 8 battleship advantage and jumping into them hurt us even more because nobody was in rep range at first. Roids weren't on comms with us either, but they were keeping up in gang chat just fine. Primaries were dropping and reps were being given out as needed. I was the first ****er to die so I missed most of the fight :(
Bl3h started bringing in reinforcements, though we were able to keep up with what they were bringing in. Seeing that the fight wasn't going to be over any time soon we made the call to bring in our own reinforcements. At one point someone asked if we should keep engaging - so due to the lack of "zomg I'm dying halphalphalp" and how fast we were still calling new targets, we made the decision to stay and duke it out. Bl3h brought in two Raven Navy Issue class ships (props) that quickly got our attention, both being downed with some difficulty.
I came back into the fight half way through and there were still a bunch of people on the gate - including dinko's damnation sitting at 15-20% armor. They still had some battleships and started bringing back a lot of command ships and battlecruisers too. We finished off an astarte, made another astarte jump, and then started working their battleships again. By the time we finished with that, it was game over man - game over.
The Aftermath
When I turned my brackets back on I nearly shat myself seeing all the drones and wrecks on the gate - it was insane. I have to say that brackets work very well, with everything on (and no fighting taking place) my frame rate dropped noticeably while I wasn't even FRAPS'ing.
Final stats MLTOV/ROIDS Losses - 15x BS, 1x Command ship BL3H/Neo Losses - 29x BS, 3x Command ships, 7x BC, 2x Recons
Over all it was an extremely intense twenty minute fight with minimal lag (at least from when I was in there fighting). We from MLTOV would like to thank the united and Neo Spartans for bringing it, its rare to get a good fight nowadays. We'd also like to thank ROIDS for joining our gang and following us into what we thought was suicide.
Quote: NOTE: ROIDS and MLTOV are negative to each other and will remain so.
We'll have a movie of the engagement coming Soon(tm). Thanks again to everyone!

That is one of the best combat reports I've seen. Paragraphs, punctuation, and broken into easily definable sections. A++ Would read again.
Sounds like a cool fight.

Despite getting a comprehensive a$$ kicking I'd like to tip my hat and give props to the VHI guys, as always you brought a good fight and were highly respectful throughout.
As for Roids, I have nothing I could say on these forums about you.
Great fight... win some, lose some. Next time maybe

Edited by: emf on 18/10/2008 09:04:39 On one side there are dubious looking neuting apocs, lots of ships with no warp disruptors, Warhead Calefaction Catalyst rigs, buffer tanked ravens, cap recharger galore, random blaster eagle, lack of damage mods, ... On the other side you have a smaller (and cheaper) gang of solidly fitted megathrons and other ships which actually fit points...
Not hard to see how molotov jumped INTO the larger gang and still came out on top. Also looks like the united had the homeground advantage with some pilots coming back twice. Awesome fight, wish I could have been in it. Really a good example for newer players on the importance of ship fitting. Now go ahead, flame me...

You clearly do not understand the "mechanics" of being -10.0. We have plenty of limitations on what we can, and cannot do.

Not enough warp disruptors for sale in low sec? I know gate guns hurt like hell but in such a huge fight their effect would be negligible.

Figures, on one of the rare times I decide to sleep before work instead of after I miss the social engagement of the year in the Aeman/Fribrodi pocket. Damn night shift!!!
From everything my corpies tell me, it was awesome fight! I wish I was there for it. I would have loved to fire some shots in anger at you guys. But you guys always bring the fight, so I'm sure I'll get a chance later
PS: Tridik, your mom.

First, Tridik you really need to ignore the troll, he's just draggin you down.
To MLTOV/ROIDS... Wish I would have been online to enjoy in the festivities. Figures all the fun stuff happens when I have other things going on .
That said, I'd like to see your pod next time we're both in the same system.

Molotov aren't exactly strangers to that low sec pocket at all.
Sounds like an amazing fight. Wish I could have been there.

Yes, but they did come back with more ships, nice ones too... I'm just giving credit where credit is due, molotov had the superior ship fittings, you don't just win a fight outnumbered for no reason.

This. I had no idea how much stuff died between the time I left to get a new ship and then come back...teaches me to leave an unfitted Megathron laying around. I might need to get FRAPS from corpies to show what happened in between...what I captured wouldn't do justice.

Edited by: Colubra on 18/10/2008 11:57:33 Was a damn fun fight. Props to both ROID for joining us for what turned out to be an interesting evening and the random people jumping in both systems trying to start the fight up.
As ships started to even up a few people were definitely breathing easier and thats when the first reinforcements started coming along. Thats when things got hairy. :)
Fight was over as I flew back in my second phoon though. :(
GF united, looking forward to the next one.
