CCP,
don't you think it would have been appropriate to inform all the people with inactive accounts that their characters stopped gaining SP as of wednesday? I'm sure most of them will be thrilled that there is new merchandise, but I think the magnitude of recent changes is a bit bigger than a few new gates around Jita, no?

Why?
They are not paying, so they are tecnically not customers, and why would you inform non-customers that the game that they aren't paying for is being changed?

I wonder if WOW will send me a mail advising me of the changes they are going to make, I should be told after all I'm not a customer and as such deserve to be kept advised of these things.

For the same reason they are informing them about laser cut merchandise? Or so they can resub and not lose weeks or months of training due to CCP's ill-conceived attempt to keep it a secret?

I completely agree. When their skill finishes (or should I say....when they think their skill should have finished) they'll log back on and figure it out. If you're not paying, you shouldn't be allowed to advance in the game, and I can't see why they have an obligation to inform people who aren't paying for anything that something they're not paying for has changed. If they care enough to be interested in what's changing in the game, they'll come back to the site and look and maybe figure it out then.

I can see the point though. Even though they aren't paying atm, the change still affect them, if they're using this former feature.

Exactly, it'd be much easier to just send out a "Yo! Resub if you want your skill to finish." instead of having Applewhatshername working overtime and me trying to get a hold of people who care about their chars but are on the moon right now.

I didnt know anyone had been on the moon recently. 
And more importantly...how are they gonna resub from the moon?
