I've been messing around a bit on test....since I'll be headign up the creation of these for our Angel Cartel RP corp..
A few questions and concerns...
1. I dont see any way to delete a medal from the corporate window...am I missing sumthing...dont want one of the other directors making an "I'm the best-est..bow down before me!!" award and not being able to get rid of it
2. The 4 basic ribbons seem to be based upon the empires...is there any hope of pirate factions getting a base ribbon style...if not...any thoughts on which is most "Angel Catel-like"?
3. Seems the current pricingis 5M/5M for creation/awarding..is this the final price scheme?
danke...

Yes please, make a way for CEO's to delete medals from the corporate inventory and the ability to revoke them once given.
I have already had a case where a director created one just as an experiment and now it's permanently in the corp inventory. If CCP wants this to be a serious part of the Eve universe, then this needs to be fixed.
If they didn't want it to be serious then they shouldn't have put it into the game.

Yep, we've had a manager create one thats now a permanent feature.
This should really only be a ceo/dir option and deletable.

I tried making a new medal with the same name but it wouldnt replace it or give me the option to....so please CCP...fix this small issue ------------------- To bring equality to the world, if your character is female then you will now have a female corpse when podkilled.. What will CCP think of next? |

Noticed the same when my corps CEO looked at awarding stuff.. we decided not to based on cost. I don't have anything constructive to add that has not been already said.
On another note.. Verone.. your sig made me laugh so hard I now have milk on my desk. ZOMG Communism! |

Sorry for the mini-necro, but I just started looking into this today and I felt like I needed to offer an opinion (and maybe bring it back to the forefront)...
Anyway, 5 million to make a medal and 5 million to create one? Really?
In my opinion, that immediately assigns equal value to every medal. So the "I'm Super-Cool Medal" and the "Just Barely Noticed" medal are only distinguished by the opinion of the granter. In a huge corporation (unless they add this as a feature) if I'm just barely up the ranks enough to award medals, is my issuance of the medals going to be to the same standard as all the ones before it?
It appears to me that the easiest solution would be to create a similar setup as the hangars and wallets. Then every medal must be created in that division and has a fixed (but decreasing) awarding cost as one moves down the divisions. And, I would think you could assign access based on titles, just like you can the wallet and hangar.
Something like: 20m -> 10m -> 5m -> 1m -> 500k -> 100k CEO -> XO -> Cpt -> Lt -> Ens -> MstChf
And, if they really wanted to make it special, each division would have it's own unique choices. So, if you wanted to make a medal with Three Gold Swords on a Silver Shield, those particular choices are only found in the top two 'divisions' ... but if you wanted to make a bronze square, those would only be in the bottom two.
This creates a default 'leveling' across the whole of New Eden because if you see a super shiny medal with all sorts of decorations on it, then you automatically know the granting corporation really invested time and money into the reward.
But they certainly should be free to create and delete ... then the award system would fall into position immediately and players will know what is required of them if they want to be awarded one of the medals. |
