As stated in previous threads there is a major problem with lag.
Upon warping into the belt, if you do load in time, you are ussualy under heavy fire by the time u have gained control of your character. This is if you havn't ctd'ed\lost your ship.
Now as is, shield tanked players can warp into the belt with shield hardners on, and shield booster running.
Armor tanked players do not have this option. I would mainly like the feature to turn on armor tanking when in warp, due to the fact that i have crashed 3 times in the last week, WHILE in warp, warping to an engagement (PVP). I have been lucky enough to not have lost my ship, however if i was under fire, i would die extremely fast due to the fact i cannot have armor hardners on when in warp.
Opinions on why this should or should not be, are welcomed.
If people disagree with this idea, i think it should still be adressed with a hotfix asap till the lag has cleared up with the server, then if people do not like this option(ie ccp). They can remove the hotfix once they have fixed the servers.
PS. I understand CCP is of course doing everything they can to fix the lag issues that we have been experiencing lately. But this may make some people a little less uneasy when warping to engagements.
Thx

Yeah would be nice to be able to warp in running those.
On another note...I got back recently, have been in several fights and in 80% of those fights my armor hardeners just stopped working while set on autorepeat. It was not cap related since I had plenty of cap left. Other modules seem to work fine on autorepeat. Anyone else experiencing this?

About reps turning off:
Believe this is a fix to the afk mining/shield boosters.
They turn themselves off after running non-stop for 3-4 hours.
Just deactivate them sometimes to avoid the nasty surprise while in fight....
Oh - about hardeners:

Usually when you warp in, it takes forever, and you're dead by the time it's finished. That is usually caused by the fact it takes forever to load 50 ships, 100 missiles, 78 containers, and 128 drones on the clientside. Which usually takes even longer when you let EVE consume all your available memory. Which it shouldn't be doing either.
It shouldn't take this long to load everything.
But since it does, here is what CCP should do. 1st off, it should load everything at the warp to destination in the middle of the warp to process. Not at the end of the warp to process. So when you enter warp, the game should then start to think about loading all the stuff on the other end of the warp right away.
So if you do a 30AU warp. It would start to load all the stuff at your destination while you're warping. And if you begin to come out of warp but everything on the other end isn't loaded all the way yet. Then it should stop your ship, go to a "LOADING...." screen, and finish loading before continuing.
So while you are coming out of warp, where everyone is going to see you coming out of warp, you would be all loaded up and seeing the same thing they are seeing.
As far as lag.. Like where you activate your weapon, but it doesn't actually start working for five minutes. That just sucks. And I don't know what to do about it.

Agreed.
I remember when we could turn anything on in warp, like mwd's, drop out of warp going 6km/s, that was fun =D

It doesn't really matter if it's problem with lag, The armor hardeners should run all the time anyway. It is clearly something that CCP overlooked when they created the hardeners and they just need to fix it.

Edited by: Mid Slots on 28/06/2004 00:09:46 If you're worried about losing your ship due to CTDs or lags then it is best not to do anything risky. Better yet, suspend your account until CCP gets it fixed. Methinks if we all suspended our accounts until the next round of bug fixes then we'd see the patch Sooner(tm).
Edit: and make the repairers repair at the start of the cycle vs. the end like boosters too.

I agree in the similarities between the two hardenning types, that both should remain on during warp, but to make armour repairers repair at the begining of the cycle would just make them the same as shields which would remove the diversity and also imo would make armour tanking that much easier...
At the moment armour tanking needs a good pilot to pull it off, you need to know when to activate your repairers at what % of shield and so on and thats what i like about it.
Yes to Hardeners on during warp, no to repair at begining of cycle.

What he said. Besides it doesn't make sense that the little nano-fiber repair thingamajigs that armor repairs use can instantly repair 600 armor upon activation. they require time to patch up the holes
