Same sort of problem here. I have a 2.8ghz dual core with 8800GTS and 2gig ram and Eve used to run perfectly on high settings. Now the game constantly jitters and spikes and feels laggy - its horrible. Doesn't seem to be an FPS thing and I've tried latest drivers, changed settings, no sound etc. and still the same.

I have the same problem. Running two accounts over two screens. One of them keeps freezing up every minute or so. Causes the other account to lag, while this freeze lag is happening I cannot move my mouse cursor between the two screens.
Worked great before the patch

From what I've noticed:
1. Those periodic freezes happen at exactly every 60 seconds
2. They are unnoticable at first when the client is freshly loaded, but become longer and more annoying the longer the client is running.
3. There is no interruption of sound and the mouse pointer can still be moved, but everything else on the screen freezes
4. Directly after a freeze, the graphics appear to "catch up" for the lost time. There's no sudden gap after the freeze, just - everything happening twice as fast for a second or two.
A friend of mine who also plays EVE reports the same phenomenon.
This is exactly what's been happening to my EVE sessions since Quantum Rise.

hi, glad im not the only one having this problem. i agree with everything you said there accept the "exactly every 60 seconds" bit. For me it freezes for 2-3 seconds everytime i open a new window, click on something in a window, perform pretty much any UI action. getting to the escape menu takes ages and minimizing/maximizing also takes forever now too. Many of my corp mates also have same problem. i have also tried the "set interval to one" option and that does not work, CPU seems to spike wenever using the UI. Restarting the client does fix it for about half an hour then it gets bad again. Hope they sort this out. keep posting guys

yeh pretty much same problems here, "instance to one" sorted it from been unplayable but i still get mega lag approaching stargates/stations/asteroid fields and in station its even worse.
CPU spikes out when using the UI for me as well, its REALLY bad inside stations using market and windows. I loose mouse cursor when alt-tab back into game, selected item seems bugged aswell, i get 2 lots of the same thing.

Yeah, it's not that bad if you just started the client, but it gets much worse after 30-60 minutes, even if you're not doing anything. I can confirm the CPU spikes, too.
I used to play with two accounts, on dual-head, now not even one works as it should. |

I have this problem as well. I hope it gets a quick fix, because the game is completely unplayable at the moment.
I am getting no CPU or memory spikes during these freezes.

Same problem here. Roaming with my corpmates around, and after 30 minutes of traveling my EVE starts freezing for 1-2 seconds every maybe 10 seconds, gatejumps and docking takes like 20 seconds. Even changing a skill causes the client to freeze. All this did not happen before the patch. My EVE used to run for 12 hours without any problems, now i can't even take part in pew pew for an hour. And i was not the only one in gang with this issues.
PS: tried all setup changes ... nothing works.

More of the same here. I went ahead and did a clean install of new client after Quantam Rise, ever since game is unplayable, this needs to be adressed ASAP, or I will have no choice but to seek my entertainment elsewhere.
Have clean client install and latest drivers for audio, video I have tried setting all intervals, and setting graphics to lowest settings...no lve :(

Same problem for me, every so often eve freezes up for a few seconds. I had not issues atall before today and was able to happily run 2 clients on my laptop in premium without any troubles atall.
My spec is:
Intel Core Duo 2 @ 2.0 Ghz 4 Gb Memory (2x2Gb) 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS
All drivers are up to date, this has to be a client issue rather than a computer / driver issue.

Exactly this.
I'm also seeing this. Two workstations. One an IBM T43 Laptop 1 Gb Ram .. running classic... in a mission when ever a new target is locked I'll get a lockup.. lasts a few seconds .. and then carries on. No catch up though .. the lost frames are just dropped. Also happens in station using skills / market / anything that seems to have draw a new effect / object. Second workstation is a AMD 3500 with a Nvidia 8000 series card. This mission suffers similar issues although on a MUCH less rate. I've changed the interval to 1 on both and it's not made a visible difference.

According to task manager my Eve client takes roughly 320,000k memory after starting a new client, and after a couple hours of pew pew I had one client at 1,200,000ish and another at 900,000ish memory.

Yeah, my CPU Usage keeps jumping from around 17% to 50+% randomly and my Memory has 1.93 GB being used, crazy. Only thing running right now is firefox, eve and widows task manager.
Something obviously wrong with all the complaint's from people, would be nice to get a CCP member to say theyre looking into this atleast.

This is most definitely related to a memory leak issue.
Had the problem... quit and reloaded client... no problem for hours with Interval 1 set and Cache set to NONE. Hours later Memory has increased from 350ish to 500mb and problem is occurring.

i'm not having any freezing issues but i do notice eve using a lot more ram and a bit more cpu with QR, have heard reports that its just with premium
before QR my cpu use was around 20% while playing eve and it has now gone up to roughly 25% and it spikes quite often
for me eves RAM use before QR was roughly 300MB and it now seems to be using 900MB after an hour of play then after a few hours its around 1.2GB

Edited by: BIGOG3 on 14/11/2008 08:03:12 Ok i started geting this issue ever since the last patch before that the game was fully playble i tried this on 2 different machines with premium graphics both had same effect i checked my ping to the game server its 90 so i guess its not internet lagg i tried lowering the graphics setings and disabling effects one by one problem stays here is the first machine: Time of this report: 11/14/2008, 00:04:36 Machine name: KLINGON2 Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 3 (2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236) Language: English (Regional Setting: Bulgarian) System Manufacturer: BIOSTAR Group System Model: NF61D-A2 BIOS: )Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~3.0GHz Memory: 3582MB RAM Page File: 461MB used, 6538MB available Windows Dir: C:\WINXP DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) DX Setup Parameters: Not found DxDiag Version: 5.03.2600.5512 32bit Unicode
The second one was my computer at work its Sempron64 3000+ with 4gb ram and Ati Radeon HD2600 256ddr3 running winxp servicepack 3 What game does exactly is several seccond freezing as if someone is pressing pause button wich is annoying as hell latest drivers are installed for sound video and directx im out of clue what the problem is buts my guess would be memory leak in the game after the latest patch. Honestly this issue needs to be adressed because guess how i feel i purchased 1 year subscribtion after the 14 day trial and turns out i cant play properly the problem gets even worse when the server gets populated during prime times so the freezes start occuring even more often like every minute or so and restarting the game client does not help !
Here is a video on youtube about this freezing issue its not made by me so i dont take any credit for the good or harm it does !

Edited by: BIGOG3 on 14/11/2008 09:42:52 Ok lets look at the problem with different aproach geforce cards dont show the temperature but ati cards do and here is what i noticed during other games the video card reaches the max temp of 75-80 Degrees C' during eve online with eyecandy graphics the temp reaches 96 could it be overheating aka developers keep addin graphics wich turns videocard into frying pan ? Pls notice the 75-80 degrees temp is in a room where airconditioning system is working while the 96 one is mesured in aircondition is not functioning maybe it passes 100 i have to check if i turn it on ! Maybe problem arises for ppl with standard pc cases wich dont have enough cooling but developers should turn their atention toward optimizing the product asuming that other mmos dont heat the card so much this is worth investigating !

PLease read carefully im not saying its only ati for some reason the game increases the temperature to around 96 degrees the reason is im talking about ati is because ati cards have temperature and fan speed in their graphic options and since my card is ati im telling about my expirience now i went even further and tested the folowing onlline games today to mesure the temperature: Battleground europe Project Entropia world of warcraft warhammer online and age of connan all of the listed had the temperature around 85 degrees C'max for battleground europe since the game is most heavy for videocard demand all the tests were preformed at maximum graphics details and card preforms stable around 75C wich i cannot say about eve there temperature jumps around 96 i cannot say whats the reason i audjusted my card fan speed to 50% further increase makes the machine very noisy but temperature does not fall unlike other games i do hope developers spend time looking into this problem !

THIS.
Lags/Freezes last something from 8-25 seconds, depends on workload (more objects on screen -> longer lag - usually, but not always). Point two is what bugs me - for the first minutes (maybe 10, maybe 15) the game runs as smoothly as before - then the freezes start. Doing missions or anything else where timing is crucial is almost impossible.

Same problem as most people seem to have - Running Premium version before Quantum no problem at all. Since expansion get about 1 or 2 hours at "playable" (worse than before Quantum with less responsive interface) and slowly becomes nearly unplayable. Have to re-start game to enjoy playing again.
My major concern is what appears to be the complete lack of information from CCP - as I understand it this was a known issue on test server but nothing was done about it? Why is there no official comment from CCP?
