So there i was, happily doing WH sites in my 1.2bill fit tengu, usually i d-scan but i was having super serious convo on skype, only then i read "You are being warp scrambled" then i went into overdrive mode and saw a Absolution, thought "hey no problem" almost killed him and a freaking carrier (Archon) pops up in a C3 and starts neuting me, now because im in a active tank i thought im ******, but turns out that still wasn't enough, so another carrier (Thanatos) pops up and both start neuting me + 20 fighter drones. I start shooting his fighters off but surprisingly they still cant neut me and im tanking there DPS no probs. But the Absolution comes back with a neut and drinks the rest of my cap and in 10mins im dead

If that Tengu was being neuted the way the OP alleges, it should have been capped out and dead in under 4 minutes... and that's still being generous.
The attackers need to come in and give their version of it. My money is on both sides being loltasically dumb. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

No prop mod on your tengu? No wonder you died.
If you'd had a prop mod you could have been orbiting the sleepers from miles off making it much harder for them to get a warp in. Plus you could have easily outrun the carriers even had they caught you.

Well, in my mind at least, that Tengu is subbed and fit to tank and have plenty of cap, and we're not taking into account the other guys skills and abilities. Also, it's a wormhole; you can't just spot your prey and pop into a station to fit exactly what you need to kill it fast like they do in lowsec and highsec.
End result, this doesn't say much about the Tengu, so much as it says about not having the ability to scan a ship, check the fit and resists, and potential dps, then fit the exact counter resists and dps and bring your buddies with the same to kill it. Then we've got damage mitigation with the common enough Falcon alt and off-grid booster.
Of course fights, (I mean ganks), in lowsec happen so fast and one side always wins. Simply put, the other guy didn't stand a chance, much less have an opportunity to take even so much as one of their ships with him.
Wormholes don't work that way. It has more to do with skill, ability, and what you have available to fight with. Unlike lowsec or high, you can't just plan to 'PvP' on one particular day of the week either, and make sure you have all your guys there at the right time, because that planning is often circumvented by a lack of targets and opportunity. This means you generally have random times when everybody is there and mixed numbers at all other times.
I doubt that Carrier pilot had anything but Firbolgs, (or maybe the hangar needed to be onlined), and the Abso pilot probably just had that Abso. Their static is a Lowsec, so chances are they were prepped for your usual form of ganker intrusion rather than other wormholers in Tengus, much less Tengus.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, that dual shield amp'd Gist B-Type has lowest cap requirements of the Large Shield boosters, and besides with the right subs the Tengu has a high ability to sustain it but does crap dps and has no drones. His prop. sub was also cap oriented rather than speed oriented.
The fit was for sleeper ratting and countering their neuts, and if I'm not mistaken, those neuts are worse than anything players will throw at you. He was however in a C3, so they wouldn't be a problem with those particular rats.
Also, I doubt those guys read the forums. And Mike712, still your old arrogant self I see. I'm surprised you even still play EVE actually. Auction - EVE Rogues Alliance [ROGUE]: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1215438#post1215438-á-á~ Auction starts @ 20 Million ISK. |

Then we've got damage mitigation with the common enough Falcon alt and off-grid booster. To be fair most pirates in low sec don't really bother to do that. If you see a fleet coming up the pipe and you have a gate camp up in your home system you might get everyone to quickly swap, but to swap ships for a specific target? Or to bother ship scanning them?
Most people know the resist profiles of the different races, tech levels and specific ships so there's little point in scanning their fit. That's a high sec PvP thing.
Mars Theran wrote:Of course fights, (I mean ganks), in lowsec happen so fast and one side always wins. Simply put, the other guy didn't stand a chance, much less have an opportunity to take even so much as one of their ships with him.

This means you generally have random times when everybody is there and mixed numbers at all other times. Low sec corps don't really do this either There are certain times of the day that there are more targets about, so people wanting to PvP will generally log on then, but mostly it's just random fleets that form and dissolve throughout the day.
I used to log on quite late at night and put up a solo gate camp, slowly people would join me and our numbers would go up. Eventually when we had enough people we'd start sending out scouts to find fleets/targets, or just go on a roam with a single scout out ahead.
Mars Theran wrote:I doubt that Carrier pilot had anything but Firbolgs, (or maybe the hangar needed to be onlined), and the Abso pilot probably just had that Abso. Also, I doubt those guys read the forums. And Mike712, still your old arrogant self I see. I'm surprised you even still play EVE actually. The neuts can be annoying in a C3, a few of the mag sites and radars have spawns filled with upholders, but an AB fit Tengu that is pulsing it's reps can kill the cruisers before capping out (I usually kill them before they even get in range) and orbit the battleships outside of neut range.
Either way, a ship without a prop mod is a sitting duck in a wormhole. The one defence you have is that it is somewhat difficult to get a warp in if you are flying a long range ship. To not capitalize on that is akin to painting a target on your back.
Admittedly the tank and capacitor on that Tengu is ok, but it still isn't going to hold up to a PvP fit hurricane and thanks to the lack of a prop mod a hurricane could land straight on top of it without issue. The only reason to go for that much cap is to circumvent the NPC neuts, and that is unnecessary if you orbit at sufficient range.
(Also, a wh corp that don't know how to kill Tengus? Seriously?)
