You do realize the "boomerang" threat didn't exist until recently, when Tier 3 BCs made such tactics possible? And even discounting the gankage love that is the Tier 3s, you still have some significant boosts to Thrashers and other destroyers. I'd say CCP is opening the door to a lot more griefing possibilities, and are just trying to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. Making sure a single Tornado and an Orca alt can't single-handedly gank a freighter in high sec does not mean CCP is making things safer. They could before, now they can't. CCP has made highsec safer. Internet Lawyered!
Basically what this guy said, the trick was always there. T3 bc's just made it more prevalent. |

CCP has made highsec safer. Internet Lawyered! Basically what this guy said, the trick was always there. T3 bc's just made it more prevalent. The tier 3 BC's made it more prevalent because they made it feasible. Before they were introduced the range of targets that could be destroyed with this technique was much more limited. The Tornado, Talos, and Oracle particularly have the highest gank for their high agility, which is just enough to evade CONCORD entirely in 0.6 sec systems and possibly higher if one doesn't engage any targets past the initial.
The boomerang maneuver is allowed by current CONCORD mechanics, but CCP didn't deem this a problem because the damage that could be done was rather limited in scope. The feasibility of the maneuver is an unforeseen consequence of the introduction of the new battlecruisers. CCP has therefore been forced to reevaluate CONCORD mechanics. Unfortunately it takes some time for code to catch up with demand (developers have to decide on an implementation, new code has to be written and then tested) so in the interim rules have been revisited as a sort of stopgap measure.
Basically what I'm trying to say that this behavior isn't new for CCP. CCP never intended for this to happen in highsec, so changing the rules to reflect new circumstances as a result of content additions shouldn't be terribly surprising. Let's make something positive of this thread.....
how would it be possible to have something in my cargo that is "rename-able" so that it looks like a PLEX to a cargo scanner?
Just asking for academic reasons. |

It would have to be a ship or shipping container. Ship wise, amarr vessels are the right colour, but it would be hard to replicate the image as it has a glaring PLEX on it. A shipping container on the other hand, renamed to something conspicuous like "market fund" could be sufficient bait? |

I'm obviously not the first to point out the stupidity in your actions. It really didn't matter if you where carrying a PLEX or an Officer mod, you where destined to get popped coming out of statiion. People have cargo and ship scanners for a reason. But I digress. There is no reason whatsoever to haul PLEX unless it's loot you picked up from a wreck. You should've researched this before moving something so valuable and expected the possibility of losing it as soon as you clicked "Undock"
Eve is not like other games and nor should it be. It rewards the clever and heavily punishes the uninformed or stupid. My favorite ancedote is "In other MMO's when you lose something the developer gives you a hug, pats you and the head, and gives it back. Eve laughs in your face and then kicks you in the nuts."
Now, had you been on the other end of this great gank you would've been praising how awesome this game was. You just would've scored hundreds of mil worth of loot and been set. Instead, you where the victim...so you chose to cry about it expecting sympathy and for something to change. Perhaps you should've undocked in a more agile ship, or had an "instaundock" bookmark that you could instantly warp to after leaving station.
Nevertheless, you live and learn from your mistakes. I know I have. Post with your main or GTFO! |

You undocked with a plex. Something you never need to do since you can activate a plex from anywhere in the galaxy, all you got to do is contract it over and all is well in the world.

So my friend and I reactivated our accounts and with the 3 billion or so isk we had we had I went and bought 2 plex in jita. I used one myself and undocked to deliver the other one to my friend. Probably some of you are already snickering. I was instantly popped upon leaving the station before even having time to react. I'm not here to qq, I believe that games are just code which set rules on play, players will exploit the code for the most gain possible. However, the game seems to be, if anything, more slanted toward griefing then ever. I don't remember being instapoped very often in jita. Unfair pvp matches aren't really enjoyable experiences, when you lose because the load screen takes too long and you can't align because some big ass tug boat is bumping you, you don't think to yourself 'man, I ****** up' you think, 'the mechanics in this game suck.' Needless to say, we decided to just let his time for plex timer expire and go play starcraft.
So with that, I bid you ado. Perhaps in another few years I'll try again, good luck and fly safe. Dskreet
No you did not 'just undock with the PLEX.' You had to go through some courier rigamarole first. And I notice how you do not say what ship type you undocked in, therefore you did not.
Post is a lie.
Thank JESUS you are gone. Ohh poor silly goon chillrens. Nobody in high sec cares about your plans to occupy jita like a bunch of dirty hippies. "....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced." |

I finally decided to join the crack game agian after a year hiatus, the idea of selling crack to people was pretty appealing. So my friend and I took out a loan knowing we could pay it back after we split the crack and resold it. Probably some of you are already snickering. I was instantly cought by the police after buying a pound, right before I even got into my car. I'm not here to qq, i believe that crack game is a trap and the cops are just there to arrest inoccent poor people. However, the crack game seems to be if anything more slanted toward arresting people than ever. I don't remember being instally locked up in LA very often. Unfair police tactics arn't really enjoyable experiences, when you lose because the car door takes too long to open and you can't put it in drive because some big ass semi is infront of you, you don't htink to yourself 'man, i **** up' you think "the mechanices in the crack game just suck" needless to say, we decided to just do our time and go back to day trading.
So with that, i bid you ado. Perhaps in a nother few years i'll try agian, good luck and smoke safe. |

The rules of Jita:
1) Always undock to an insta. 2) Assume you'll be ship/cargo scanned at the Perimeter gate and in any 0.5 choke systems, and fit/plan accordingly 3) Pretend its lowsec and use cloaky haulers whenever possible
As for losing your PLEX, yeah it sucks but is it really worth quitting over? That's like 2 HACs. Sure it stings, but its hardly the end of the world. My killboard - http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Kessiaan |

DAMN... unlucky!
The chances of that happening in Jita off the station isn't very high. HOWEVER... it happens. To cancel after one incident though... is pointless.
I guess eve isn't for you.
But, it's very short sighted to say that the game is 'geared' towards griefers, as CCP is making very concerted efforts to clamp down on griefing in high sec. (take note of fanfest 2012). Also.. i suggest you look over other threads from griefers complaining about it.
So, if you want a 100% chance of not getting killed in high sec, play another game. IF you want the THRILL AND CHALLENGE of a good MMO.... learn the mechanics, learn to survive and play eve! .................It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight Risin' up to the challenge of our rival And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night And he's watchin' us all with the eye of the tiger............... |

i'll just say this...
Why would anyone ever leave a station with a plex onboard, you can use the redeem system to bounce it "virtually" anywhere, or you can just contract it to ur friend who then activates it from assets.
So this is either a troll or a super fail. |

PVP isn't fair, life isn't fair, eve isn't fair. It's a sandbox, not a game. you weren't griefed, you were ganked for someone elses profit for being a tard. Think before you act & don't undock with stupid crap in your cargo hold on un-tanked ships & you will find your experience in eve much more enjoyable. |
