Assuming you are actually allowed to dock in the first place, if you are within docking distance is there any way that anyone can stop you docking (short of blowing you up)? Do aggro timers apply or anything else to consider?

In regards NPC stations yes, you can always dock (even if you have very poor standings with the station faction).
The only reason you could not is if you have committed an act of aggression (fired first on another player)
Or if the enemy attacking you bump you out of dock range.
Outposts in 0.0 are a different matter iirc.

Ah - I was under the impression that even if you aggro'd someone you could still dock. Good to see you can't.

You can get bumped out of docking range, but depending on the station that can either be done quite easily, or it can be close to impossible.
The session change timer applies the same as after jumping through gates, you can't re-dock for 30 seconds after undocking, so if the station is camped, don't immediately turn around, you're invulnerable during that period. Wait out the timer, then turn around and dock. The aggro timer applies as well, for 1 minute after shooting someone you can't dock or jump.

just a small correction. It doesn't matter who did it first. If you perform an aggressive act (shooting, jamming, neutralizing, webbing, scrambling, ...), even to defend yourself against aggression, you cannot dock for 1 minute.
The safest way to defend yourself while you're in docking range is.... to dock. |

An aggression timer will prevent a session change, which includes docking or jumping. It's active for 30 seconds and can be from something like shooting someone or as simple as webbing a corp freighter to get it into warp quicker - that's right it can be against a corp mate.
It's 30s from the last act of aggression - last shot or when the EW was turned off.

The aggression session change timer is 60 seconds.
The general session change timer is 30 seconds.
So if you have shot (includes ewar, etc) anyone (player not NPC) then you cannot dock/jump for 60 seconds.
If you have just had a session change (ie jumped, undocked, ship destroyed, etc) then you cannot dock for 30 seconds. |

Remember this. Otherwise you'll try to dock/jump in a pod after getting blown up and die when you can't. -------------------- Originally by: Crumplecorn
