i got a storyline mission:
carry 40000 m3 from a to b. its 5 jumps. with my industrial i need to fly 6 times. that makes 55 jumps. i have 2 hours for the mission. the destination system is next to jita, so i have to expect lag. wtf??
is there any ship that can carry much more than my industrial and is trained in a day or two? probably not, eh?
what can i do?

Your industrial carrying only 6000 or so m3 makes it a pretty small industrial, so I'm sure with a few hours training you can quality for at least one higher. Should I assume that you're already added cargo extenders in all your low slots, and GSCs inside the cargo bay? I can carry 12000 m3 in my un-rigged small industrial (Hoarder), so I'm not sure which one you're using that it's so limited.
Worst case, pay someone in a bigger industrial to haul the stuff for you to your destination in one trip.

A badger II with 3 named cargo expanders should take you just over 10,000m3 which cuts you down to 4 trips. Easier to find a friend to help shift it though

Best m3 for a short training time would be a Bestower, with 4x Cargo Exp2 it will carry just over 13000m3 with 3x Cargo Optimizer rigs it will carry 20000 m3, All you need skillwise is Amarr frigate lvl3 and Amarr industrial lvl1, you should already have Spaceship Command lvl3 for your Badger, training time is around 8hrs

wow, hardly impossible
seriously gtf over it, i had to do the exact same mission with an ity mk.2, granted it took more than a few hours, but who cares, i dont generally do the storylines for isk, i normally do them for the standings increase, because isnt that kinda the point

I had this one and it was never going to happen. My character was about a month old, and the mission was 5 jumps into lowsec...3 trips using a slow industrial. Um, no.

Also, if you really need to move it, dangle a bunch of isk in a courier contract. Someone will pick it up if you pay enough.

I've gotten that mission before. And you know what? Storyline-status be damned, I declined it. Like me, you could see the cargo requirements, and you knew your hauler capacity. You still accepted the mission, and so you have only yourself to blame; don't come crying here. |

So what are you complaining about?
Using WTZ you should have it done within 40 minutes tops. |

Edited by: Vhiskey on 26/10/2008 11:02:35 i did not complain. i was wondering about that mission and that a lv4 mission runner has to have skills to carry that huge cargo amount.
anyway, i did it in 28 min
edit: whats WTZ? |

And the only part that was impossible was the bonus, who cares about that, it usually trivial anyway. Just get on with it.
Also a properly expanded iteron V can lug 39000m3, so it's two trips tops.

What everyone said above.
Also; Amarr Industrial I (Amarr Frigate III), Bestower, 4x Expanded Cargohold II (Mechanics I, Hull Upgrades II). No rigs, short training, hardly any isk invested. = 13,319 m3.
Misanth was created around 3 years ago, I started my career hauling stuff for miners (while doing learning and combat training). Three years later I can fly all Amarr ships but I never trained past industrial one. That bestower can fit all needs you have, unless you plan to go heavy industrial or trading. |

im not sure if its minerals or something else you need to ship from A. to B. but if its minerals why not get the minerals to where they need to go before you accept the mission. then accept it and turn it in... easy.
if you need to ship something else. you need to train some more skills cos my badger mk2 can fit 13k in the cargohold.
gl anyways on the mission

of course, it wasnt something i could buy . i checked it.
i bought a bestower and pimped it. now i¦ve above 20k m3 cargohold. i will need it.
all the above was not because of the bonus although it was 8 times the normal reward. i¦m just lazy so i spent >100 mil isk to get a ship/equipment to do this mission as fast as possible
if i had a look at my skills before i would have seen that i can use a bestower or badger mark II already and this thread wouldnt exist. i did not look because it¦s long ago that i trained industrial thus far (it was for a lv3 storyline cousier mission with 7500 m3 ).
well, as a mission runner you dont pay much attention to your industrial ships skills. sorry for the "alert" |

Bumping this just to annoy you.
LOL at spending all that money to avoid a few jumps; I bought some cosmos missions items off the market yesterday for 80m to save 10 minutes camping a complex. it makes no sense but we all do it.
It's like declining a mission and taking the huge standings hit just cos I'm too impatient to wait out the 4 hours and too lazy toe make 5 jumps to a different agent :)

The bonus for this particular mission is 5 million ISK. The standard pay is less than half a million ISK. |

Maybe contact someone nearby with a Bustard , or equivilant .

It is to someone willing to spend 100M ISK to avoid a few jumps.

completing this storyline mission gives you 8.75% faction standing increase, which is the maximum for any storyline lvl 4 mission.Aim badger 5 with T2 cargoholds and you will be able to do it in 2 trips ;) [Service]Personal standing increase (UNIQUE!) + Setting a corporation |

Impossible? No. A pain in the arse, yes. Most industrials can see the better side of 10k without too much training or cost in modules but I just cancel those missions. I had one the other day that was a 12 jump round trip into low-sec. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran, 4+ years)

A properly properly expanded Iteron V can carry just under 42,000m3 without GSCs, but the extra half billion required for the Cargohold Optimisation II rigs for the extra 10% is a little ... extreme ;-)
