There are some FCs that prefer the tactic of remaining docked and attacking their enemies with a barrage of mean comments in chat, but this generally does not result in many shipkills. The first thing to keep in mind when you're undocking, is that you need to be in a ship. Here is how to do that. Open Your Hangar, by clicking the 'My Ships' icon. Unpackage a ship, in many cases it may be a starter ship, make sure to save that tritanium cuz it adds up! Get in the ship, by right clicking its icon and selecting 'Make Active'. Make sure that ship has modules of some kind on it, preferably a good well-rounded setup, a few hybrid turrets, a few energy turrets, some missile bays, shield extenders, and a Small Armor Repairer I. ALWAYS BRING THE SAR I! Now that you're in your ship, you should probaby insure it. Select the 'Insurance' icon and then select the 'Ship' that you're 'in'. Insure it. Good. Now you're ready to undock. Undock by clicking the little undock arrow thingie in the bottom right of the screen. No not the clock. The little yellow arrow thingie. There you go! Congratulations! You're now out in space!

As a rule I don't undock, and I live way out in 1.0 But if you're an alliance mate i'll undock for you.
