In an attempt to get some battle reports going from all sides. Here's my report from the BoB forums. Oh, if you can't take a bit of a dig, you probably want to flame this.
==
Last night, NC and TCF jumped capitals and fleet into E-O.
Our fleet took a wee bit to get organized and we had some carriers outside POS shields at 7-1. Carriers were told to hug POS shields and get inside way before any hostiles loaded on grid, but still some got caught out and killed by enemy caps + fleet.
The EVOL POS at 7-1 and our own fleet did a number on their BS fleet, killing a bunch of hostile BS in this first engagement. After about 30 minutes, the EVOL POS was reinforced and all guns incapped. Max Teranous (sponsored by T1 fitted EVOL sabres of doom) and a few other dictors managed to keep the hostile caps bubbled for ages on 7-1.
After we got properly organized, we lit a cyno at 7-3, used 7-2 as a staging point for our fleet and regrouped all fleet and caps on the cyno at 7-3. Hostile dictors tried to bubble our caps, but a quick smart bomb from our carriers killed the bubbles and the dictors got minced by our conventional fleet.
Gamesguy nubbed out and AFK'd at the 7-1 POS, even though supercaps were meant to be on 7-3. He got bumped outside the shields because 7-1 has a shared password and got ganked in his Aeon. Bit of a "meh" moment, but soon as we called "He's ****ed, stick to the plan!", we went back to business and stuck to the goal: get into a fight with these 100 capitals!
At this point, the system was perfect, module lag was nonexistent and loading was pretty much instant. 100 of our capitals, 100 of their capitals, both Dreadnaught heavy. In what was probably one of the biggest capital gang warps in history, we landed at point blank range of the enemy cap fleet and entered siege. 100 capitals on both sides slugging it out, Dreads dying as if they were non-tanked fleet battleships. Conventional fleets of 150 odd on both sides slugging it out too, bubbles going up all over the place. SFS took the conventional fleet in another channel. Carriers worked their BS in close, Dreads on dreads.
Both MM and BoB used carriers cynos to reinforce their capital fleets and this fight raged on for over an hour. Funny fact: it appears some MM pilots came back in new dreads after they got popped, I think we effectively killed the M-O capital fleet that they got reimbursed again. :-) After about an hour, dreads started to run out of stront and the looting of wrecks commenced. At this point, PL cyno'd in about 10-15 dreads at 200-230km off our dreads. MaxT, being the cheeky bugger he is, hotdropped the PL caps with some decent bubbly boobly love and got MSN convo spammed to quit griefing the pew pew sniping nano dreads of "omg no risk, let's just join in when there's nothing to looooose". Anyways, fair play to PL and eventually they did manage to get in there, siege up and do some of their ranged ploink ploink.
After 60-70 minutes, I went into my last siege cycle just as I got locked up by all their dreads, thinking: "ahhh ****, if only I would've known before that stront went 'yoink!'". I readied the lube, hit the capital booster as the first nags and phoenixes started lobbing citadels at my poor phoenix and chugged a blue pill for good measure! That Phoenix served me well, she actually lasted pretty long. (Also lulz @ Viper****z for one-gunning me, griefer!).
I had to be in at work at 0830, so at this point I didn't grab a second phoenix to return to the cap fight. Coranor took over calling and SFS was still taking names with the conventional fleet. :-)
All in all, EPIC ****ING WIN CCP! If that is how the servers will be in the future, you hooked me for another couple of years to this great hobby! :-) -

Nice report.
Can we get an addition from a GBC member who survived the engagment as to how you handled the withdrawl?
A few of us where scratching our heads thinking 'where the bloody hell have they gone?' and of course the usual cries of 'Logofski' etc but I don't think anyone really knows.

To pick up where Waagaa left off, as GBC Dread numbers dwindled to 20 on the field BoB capitals were ordered to retreat into the POS shield, the NC and PL capital groups took out another 5 or so GBC capitals as they attempted to enter the safety of the shields. |

Edited by: Shadoo on 28/10/2008 10:35:17 Thanks for the dig Waagaa .
Our initial plan was to come in at 120, well within our Plutonium range -- but by the time our cyno guy actually managed to activate his cyno mod -- he had drifted out to 200km. And we came with 22 Dreads initially (after running home 30j from upper Deklein after fight with GODS) with another 4-6 joining afterwards.
Given module "stuck" features -- we weren't killing stuff as fast as usual from 220 -- so we made the call to come to AM XL range and stuck it in. At this point lag was clearing and we managed to use 6 cycles, jump out and restront within 5min and jump back in to do another 3 cycles.
We were late to the party and short on numbers -- you can thank nice fights with GODS for that .
Good fight, amazing (lack of) lag. |

First Gf everyone.
From my point of view, we were doing ok initially as hostile NC and TCF dreads started dropping quickly in the beginning but towards the ends, PL decided to get involved and many GBC dreads started to run out of stront. Also all the initial dreads that we killed like Javers were returning to the fight in new dreads fully stronted and hungry.
NC had home advantage and probably could restock easier. I died (cap alt) and seemed shortly after we had to withdraw.
Hope you all enjoyed it too. It is still only a game

Epic fights and great report.
Here is another foot soldiers view:
Call for cloaky cyno's goes at and we move all our different cyno's into position, it wasn't clear if we had a distinct target to be fair I think Melaki wanted a fight. I am asked to get my ass on the 15W gate in E-O aaah great fun when the hostile camp was there, I spend the next 10 minutes manouvering to dodge support.
Then call is made Mendes cyno up and broadcast. I was happy as the BOB support had just warped direction M-O gate so had only few hostiles on grid. I light it and see the flashes, of course all BOB support tackles me and I spam the 'oh crap please rep me button'. The Intys thought it was clever to dive towards me, forgeting I was Rapier or something :) 2 died divebombing me.
Eventually my cyno goes down and chatter begins as to what do we pewpew next? The order to find nice tower was made and I followed, then someone spotted caps outside the field outside 7-1. I went there to take a look and stuff and as I land and get in a position near caps TCF land with the enemy caps which were spread out all around the enemy pos just outside forcefield. Someone in TCF did the most awesome bump on a Thanatos in thier Maelstrom and sent it 5-10km away from the field, I decloak and web and all our guys come in.
We pewpew the Thanatos who goes down and then choose other targets that look close to the field, I roam around killing enemy support that warped in and ended up causing lots of nasty overheating damage to my MWD bumping caps. We wait at the POS as BOB regroup and scout reports their caps are forming up all be it rather slowly in OBE. About 15 minutes later and we hear that someone leaked the forcefield password, a nanophoon warps into POS and caught Gamesguy off guard. The second gamesguy is out of the forcefield I play my usual yey bumpage time still managing to manually manoevour as the lag wasn't that bad; the Aeon hits structure then bam his armor goes up to 25% looks like he just got a Titans gang bonus's. I tried to loot the wreck but failed epically as I didn't have wrecks on overview and only had enemy ships on brackets which were soon to be removed.
Then comes the here we go moment and BOB caps appear on the field, we knew the fight was coming we had grid loaded already the majority felt like we had the advantage. Siege is ordered and I remain in the cap channel and shoot things they don't like such as Max Teranous who I have to say is an excellent dictor pilot. The kills started off slightly in BOB's favor in the slugfest; then 10 TCF carriers arrive and hey maybe the 100 extra fighters swung it for us. BOB support keeps doing sniper runs and I have fun divebombing them unfortunately overloading to 6km/s only works when you aren't webbed and a Rapier caught me in range. My Rapier dies a glorious death and I pod my self back into Tribute core dock up and prep my carrier.
Undock and ask for cyno to be rebroadcast and jump straight into the frey only 1 minute later I am loaded and start setting fighters onto enemy caps and remote repping the allies. The fight then goes on for what seems to be forever, and as the Revelations and Moros's go down we begin to struggle to find more that were in siege. We believed the enemy dreads to be running out of stront we sure as hell were and the battle for our caps to slowboat to wrecks started. The pewpew went on and then I realise ermmm why am I 60km away from the main cap group... wtf I reapproach Melaki and rep Drakona as he hits 1/3 armor. We see BOB caps are now slowboating towards the forcefield and it seemed like we were doing great, infact we were, support warps back in and focus's fire with us to take down the remaining caps outside the forcefield.
It was at this point I believe someone bumped more caps out of the enemy forcefield which they couldn't change at the risk of ejecting their allies, we got a few more cheap kills.
Great fight, little lag, could even manually fly nano! |

epic fight sounds epic.
That's the sort of thing you can only really get in eve and the reason why people play it despite its many foibles.
About the camping of the Obe to E-O route it was not an organised op, just about 10 or so IXC guys that had been in the fight with TCF in P3E that then drifted over to M-O for a bit to see what was going on there.
The node must've been seriously reinforced because we had very little trouble in M-O whereas last night we were there and it was basically a series of weird rubberbanding and unresponsive mod effects all night.

Nice report(s), for clarification TCF had NO dreads involved last night.
From TCF POV, and to make it short, we had a gang of maybe 100 conventional ships (BS and support) going to M-O via low-sec, on our way there we meet Triumvirate, a nice fight happens near at a gate in P3N, after killing 36 BS and lossing about 17, TCF hold the field, quickly loot, and resume the move to E-O, having lost about... 25-30% of the gang/firepower.
Few later in the night we then provided support for the NC caps in E-O, we engaged various GBC groups near POS or gates or in safespots, then circa 0:15FR we went back home, the 50% that survived.
It's only then that few TCF that do not need to sleep jumped into their capital ships, and cynoed a dozen of carriers back to E-O and .... there it links to the other reports because I was sleeping :]
