jet can mining isn't an exploit it can't be an exploit and it will never be an exploit
with the new Criminal flaggging system, ore thieves will soon be history.
what YOU put in a can that YOU jettisoned is labelled YOURS, and the content of it is YOURS. someone other than YOU cannot take YOUR stuff without being labelled a thieve by the new criminal flagging system and thus the OWNER of the CAN and/or the STUFF is free to, well kill you, and if he doesn't kill you I believe others can kill you as your flagged as a thieve.
CCP is sanctioning Jet can mining with the new criminial flagging system.
I read this somewhere and if I weren't so darn lazy I'd look it up and post the link :P ______________ Only in the Tales that humans tell, do the hunters kill the wolf in the end.

CCP's position on ore theft
For the lazy, here is the whole article:
Originally by: EVE Support Website Why is it so easy to steal ore ? The regular containers were designed to jettison unwanted items into space or to hold loot from blown up ships. They were designed so that any player could take from them because that was essential for them to function as they were intended. Players later invented the "container mining" method after noticing that the containers could hold way more than any cargo hold. This use for the containers was never intended and it has the obvious flaw that any player with a reduced sense of right and wrong can come by and take everything from the container and no one can do anything about it.
This risk should be known to all players and there will be no reimbursement for ore lost this way. Also, ore "theft" is not considered harassment so no punishment will be dealt out to those who choose to "steal". Players who are thinking of taking up a career as ore thiefs should note that they will face a lifetime of unpopularity and unhappiness as a result.
CCP has decided to meet players halfway by implementing secure containers that can be bought on the market and have the advantage of being equipped with a password lock. These containers cost money and do not hold the vast amount of ore that the regular containers do. However, with good organization and frequent ore pickups using Industrial ships, they can be very useful for large scale mining operations.
The bottom line is: If you use regular containers to store your ore you assume all the risk. Having your valuables floating in space in an unsecured container is equivalent to throwing money on the street. Should you lurk nearby and wait for someone to take the money and then attack him, the police would deal with you, not him. The same goes in Eve. If you attack a player who just took "your" ore from a regular container in a system with a security level of 0.5 or higher. You will be destroyed by Concord.
Looks to me like CCP will always allow it. And no way in HELL will they ever make ore removal part of the criminal flagging to satisfy the whiny battleship carebear miners who are too scared to leave .8 and higher systems because of the 1k rats! -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

Why are the miners in 0.5+ space being bashed while the ore thieves IN THE SAME SPACE are being defended by so many here? Chances are the ore thieves there are the more experienced players, if you're going to yell at someone to leave secure space yell at them, not the (often new players) miners. ------------------------------------- // The views expressed by this poster are not the views of the poster's corporation, alliance, planet or television network... but they should be. |

well, seems I was wrong about the criminal flagging thingie. I took the time to read the document about criminial flagging system and found nothing about taking your stuff or along those lines, maybe I read it somewhere involving Contraband.
anyhow, Jet can mining isn't an exploit .P ______________ Only in the Tales that humans tell, do the hunters kill the wolf in the end.

Only 1 problem with the 'secure can' thing. (iirc) You're able to scoop unachored cans.
Meaning a person mining in .9/1.0 (most of the time noobs, but if its a BS mining they deserve it) has no defense agaisnt theives at all.
Always hit the big red button whenever you get the chance.

What's wrong with mining in a BS in high sec space? You obviously have no clue how much low end minerals are required to keep an industrial based Corporation operating, and when you're at war, the need is twice as great. The only way to keep up with that need is to strip mine with a group of battleships. It's obviously the belief of those people that lack the ability or skill to obtain a BS. I remember people *****ing back in TTI's hayday. "TTI are ebil! They mine out entire belts while leaving nothing for the little guy! *sob *sob* *boohoo*". Welcome to the world of corporate business, it's get big or get nothing. Oh and before you start flaming me for being a carebear empire BS miner, I mine 0.0 space almost exclusively and also partake in a lot of PvP.

(it is soon 5 am) will turn on the smoke alarm all over the place and then go inside our room to check.. then I will stay up and not get a shock while sleeping and die.... I will be playing eve untill the jerk shows up
