Right. So that this will happen: Originally by: CCP RyanD I have noticed a number of people commenting on the threadlocking activities that happened during the Ghost Training notification. I wanted to just let everyone know what the policy is, so we're clear.
If we decide to issue a Devblog on a topic that has spawned a lengthy thread, we will lock that thread, and the last message in the thread will contain a link to the comments thread associated with the Devblog.
This is not a sinister attempt to silence people, but is rather an attempt to concentrate all the feedback into one place so that there's an easier 2-way channel of communication. This is the same reason that we don't like it when posters open similar threads to ongoing discussions - we want to keep all the discussion of an active topic in one place.
When we do threadlock a discussion, that thread should always remain visible. During the Ghost Training discussions, a thread was made invisible on accident, not on purpose, and as soon as we figured out how to fix that problem, visibility was restored. It is not our policy to hide threads that have been threadlocked & forwarded to a comment thread, that particular incident was unintentional.
We'd ask everyone to help us with this policy by just going to the comment threads when we take these actions, and not re-opening new threads in the discussion forums. If you want your opinions to be heard, keep them in the thread that is going to be read by Devs following the Devblog.
Thanks!
RyanD
Do you,Abrazzar, feel like 2-way communication has happened?

Well, that pretty much sums it up. CCP is screwing their customers, they know it, and they don't want to discuss it. Fair?

TBH, there's not really a need for a 2-way communication in marketing decisions.

Not really. Can you name any other gaming company that lets you train skills up for free? You should be grateful that you dont have to grind to get skills, you just turn it on and let it sit.

Players have never actually responded to CCPs initial statement in the first place. The "communication" went like this:
CCP: "We're ending ghost training, as it was an unintended bug, and we have noticed a recent surge in players (ab)using this "feature", more so than we desire. We feel it gives them an unfair advantage over normal players" Players: "You suck! You hate your customers! You are incompetent! You are greedy! I'm quitting and so are all of my friends!"
What do you want CCP to say in response to that? To be quite honest, this situation is quite simple: CCP wants to remove ghost training (and have), but players do not want them to.

I don't play any other any MMO and when I signed up for this one, "Ghost Training" was an ADVERTISED FEATURE.

Not screwing with me.
And seriously, with public litigation and all that rubbish, would you want to drop your opinion however well intended it was into that trashpile?
I don't have a link, but there's a video I saw once called "Why you should never talk to police". While there's no legal repercussions, a CCP staff member could put together a completely honest statement and some bunch of idiots would wrangle it into more "proof that CCP is trying to screw their customer, lying" and all that other BS that people like you trawl up from the gutter.
Quote: I don't play any other any MMO and when I signed up for this one, "Ghost Training" was an ADVERTISED FEATURE.
BTW, I'd go look up the meaning of the word "Advertised" and "Feature" before making that claim. Because it's more of a "Public bug announcement so everyone can exploit it" than a feature.
PS. This post "features" Nikla Uthaan.

Huh? A "public bug announcement" 3 days before the "fix" is better than 5 YEARS worth of implementation? "Advertised" in the new players guide and supported by multiple dev posts don't measure up to a single dev post calling "GT" a mistake? Wow...

If McDonalds had advertised that you would get a free hash brown with that big mac, and then said "sorry, it was not fair" after you paid and countless other big mac eaters got their free hash browns, would you whine? I am guessing..."yes".

You guessed wrong. A company has the right to change any policies as they see fit and the customer has the right to decide whether the services are worth it or not. Feature or bug, I don't see why CCP deserves to be dragged out into the street and shot just because they corrected an error. How would you adress this issue yourself? Most importantly, how are you supposed to tell whether this is part of my post or my signature? |

English and comprehension aren't your greatest skills, are they?
To be honest, if you couldn't understand why it was in the players guide as a "fact", not as an "advertisment", (unless of course, there's some magic google ad out there saying "EVE ONLINE - With Ghost Training!) then there's no point me trying to explain why you're tremendously wrong.

seriously if you are as stupid as you sound , you really should show show your disgust with how you have been treated and leave the game in the manner befitting your childishness.

Hi Henry, grow a pair before you speak about things you don't understand. "Ghost Training" has been a FEATURE since I started playing this game 3 years ago. A newbie dev didn't like it and poof...it's a bug.
