Edited by: Pac SubCom on 31/10/2008 19:57:13 Painters are easily the most underestimated modules in the game. This thing gives so much tactical freedom. I often can't really believe people fly speedfits in a mandatory manner and still haven't noticed the target painter. Logistical reasons, tackling is more important than dps, albeit not necessarily more important than alpha strike.

The point is, in order to utilize the web as a tracking helper, you have to stand still yourself. A web is like webbing yourself. And there goes your speed advantage right out of the window.

Web is still superior to TP in that scenario. Oversized target sig radii hardly matter for tracking purposes. transversal velocity is what dominates the tracking formula.
Nope it doesn't. Sig radius has exactly the same effect on tracking as speed. --------------- ∞ TQFE

Yes, that is what I was trying to say.

Sure. But I just wanted to reiterate. Redundancy is the golden rule of broadcasting, and surely of forum posting too! --------------- ∞ TQFE

That and you explained it better than I did.

And its now proven your as re-tard-ed as Merin! Doomdays arent guns at all NOOB

You try turning with the target instead of just sitting there or hitting "orbit" over and over again????

Originally by: Crellion I do not entirely get why Max OP'd this but the criticims are also juvenille.
He is not suggesting that720s or 250 rails or big momma cannons should be able to hit with a TP all the time or any such rrandom bs that has been suggested.
He is merely telling you that TPs are hailed as the new Mahiki (or was that Whiskey Mist now...) but they are not actually all that.
Now don't be rude and say this is irrelevant because I saw a few bright sparks in the Game Dev threads suggesting the buff on the Hugin Rapier from painters would balance their nerf from webs.
He is showing you that this is bullcrap.
The half sane comment by Sokratez about returns with better base tracking guns is just that... after all dual 180s on a Rapier??? lol
The only valid counter argument so far is that he might want to calculate the TP's effect not on his own guns (joke guns anyway) but on the missles of his gangm8s but that (a) is another story altogether and (b) the way missles are being oblivion nerfed might also end up irrelevant...
Anyway the rest of you back off poor Max or I ll find you in game
A few rapiers might fit TP's but you'll probably see just as many bs's and tacklers using them for roughly the same effect.... rapier/huggin has 6 mids and needs 1 scram/disruptor, 1 mwd, 2 webs (maybe 3 after patch) which leaves 1-2 slots for target painters LSE's and sensor boosters. Belliclose might see some use though (as to basically none right now) would be somewhat awkward fit though as it would be tackler range/speeds to get in close enough but no warp disruptors/webs due to lack of mids or a single disruptor and only 2 TP's.
