how about the brackets around ships, if you cant target it cuz of the sensors they are more of a grey/transparent color, and then when you are able to target them they light up to their normal white, that way when someone undocks they remain grey and as soon as you see them turn white you can target, or when you warp into somewhere everyones brckets wopuld be gray, and they would all just light up to a white

That sounds like a good idea for other ships coming out of warp and undocking. But when I come out of warp myself, I don't want everyones brackets to be more faded (specially if I was still using that crap monitor I was using last year). When I come out of warp. I'm already scoping out all the brackets and getting ready to target the one's I need to. So I would rather not nerf the ability to see thoughs brackets more. But if the targets invulnerable, then yeah that would be cool to fade thoughs brackets.. Originally by: PaulAtreides Someone ((CCP)) please hire Mr nStuff

I think it's a crap idea.
P.S: I'm trying to see if reverse psychology works on the Dev's.

No, it is a crap idea. Why? Because it SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY!
Instead of an effing error message, the ****ing game should queue the lock-target request and do it when its able!

This one's better but probably requires a more significant code change
Someone should ask about both these ideas at the next CSM
Edit: stoopid filter

Well done. I'll bring this to the attention of the Devs and see what they think. Also, *shakes his finger at nStuff* trying to sneak in a change to the stop button while you are at it? Sneaky, sneaky.

Great idea with the indicator. Even better idea with the queueing of locks. Same with stargate jumps when coming out of warp etc.
PS. I rather like the stop button.

Great ideas, both of 'em (the light and the queue).
As far as the light goes, I'd much prefer it in the middle of the cap meter. Greying out target brackets, as has been pointed out, makes it tough to plan your attack. Greying out the weapons requires me to be in "high slot" view, which I am not always in. If the indicator is in the middle of the cap meter, it is always there and always visible without interfering with any of the other display stuff.
