Hi all!
Given that CCP is now owned by Sony I suppose it will be a time of cultural exchange for us all. Values and customs that you and I are unfamiliar with will now be more common place in game and on the forum.
I have friends who have visited and/or lived in Japan. It is apparently an amazing country rich in culture and tradition. Myself, I've never been there but I've been happy to embrace parts of Japan that have made it to my country, mainly Teppanyaki! Heh heh heh, just a little joke.
However, as I said earlier given that the future of EVE will be shaped by Sony I think it's of value to discuss this impact of this to the current community and what we can do as a whole to embrace this change.
Which brings us refreshingly to the topic if Hentai and 18-Kin.
Now it's a couple of fairly wide ranging topics to embrace in one post, but I guess we will have to give it a try.
I suppose the burning question is. Will this stuff be all over the place in EVE? Forget trading crummy old "Reports", will we be able to trade viewable stick mags for profit? And that could be only the start of it. Those exotic dancers could actually DO SOMETHING! Just don't put them near that new commodity Item "Tentacled Beast" if you want to keep your lunch. That is of course unless you're into that crap.
I've never used CQ, well I turned it off, but imagine the uptake if the video was 23/7 skin flicks? "PLEX4PORN" - what is ISK sink! All lead by our world leading consumers of the stuff - Japan.
Anyways, a lot for the community to mull over for the next few months while we wait for Sony to complete the management transition from DUST to EVE proper.
I was hoping to see the CSM take up some of these questions during the recent elections, but to no avail.
With so many other distractions with Mittens etc. it's probably easier just to bring this straight to the community.

Sony doesn't own CCP. CCP is still a private company. They have their own board of directors and shareholders, but they are still private.

OMG !! i did not realize that this was going to be a problem since obviously all of japan is all of sony and all of sony is all of japan and all of the Sony japenesisms is going to directly influence the in game items showing up !! we will soon see sony brands on our in game items and sushi .
and then if that's not bad enough we will have Sony euphemisms clogging up our chat channels and ingame items ( XPERIA Blasters pvp like no other)
and then the culture difference OMG its going to wreck reykjavik!! the entire welcoming and open nature of eve will be wrecked by the Gaijin culture. All outsiders will be rejected and ignored !! they may even call us nanbanjin's and in stead off noob you will get, " shut up nanbanjin."
and when we X up for fleet . it will be , "X was soooo like 1990's you stupid nanbanjin's you need to start listening to Masaharu Fukuyama Ikiteru ikiteku" and then some one will say no way man they need to be listening to "Wo BU Yuan Rang Ni Yi Ge Ren "
and we will be like WTF !! X UP !!!! and they'll be like" fuzakeru na nanbanjin. Torikku wa kodomo no tame no monodesu."
