Christ !
What a race and that the title would be decided in the last lap like that was just amazing !!
Grats to Lewis Hamilton and McLaren Mercedes for getting the title.
And grats to Felipe Massa and Ferrari for a brilliant race, pity it wasn't enough.
This race was awesome and it had me sitting on the edge of my chair until the very end. --

Truly, a great race. I thought Lewis was not going to make it, it was clear he had problems with the front of the car, but he finally passed Glock in the last corner! A deserved championship for him. Congrats.

Shame he is a fguckign cheat.
Yes I know he bought his way out of the debacle last year but do you really believe for a second he didn't gain the advantage ?
Last years placements give the team the garage slot for this year. Also did you notice that the rules against "team orders" were very lapse this year with 2team orders" even being broadcast over the radio.
F1 has slowly degraded into a complete ****pit of a sport. Lewis "technically not a cheat" Hamilton has won his title because everyone else gets nerfed.

Lol, F1's always been like that, m8. It's part of the charm.
I haven't watched F1 since before Hamilton started racing. It sounds like I might want to watch again, since there is obvious drama that was lacking in the last couple of seasons of Schummie's reign.
Does youtube have all the last 2 or 3 years of races, or has the FIA taken them down? Links?

Yes. F1 does seem like whoever cheats the most and gets away with it :/
It is a big shame that ever since the loss of the privateers money is driving the sport even more although they want very much to drive the costs down.
Last year was the final straw for me and this year hasn't drawn me back enough regardless of a british champion.
I have no feelings either way that he won cause I just dont like the guy. My missus met him and said he was a real good bloke but he is just another "celebrity" gotta love the way he screwed over his real GF once the iskies rolled in and his "fame" increased.
I miss Eddie (both of them) I still wear my Jordan T-Shirts :)

lol
I expect the racists, anti-Hamilton/Pro Ferrari whiners will be in here soon, whining about how Massa was robbed and Hamilton doesn't deserve it.
Just goes to show, even when you're in the FIA's back pocket ala Ferrari, it really isn't a substitute for thinking out of the box, getting on with the job, and plain upfront skill, engineering and knowledge.
After the victimisation over the last two years, the racist bullcrap from Spanish fans, the boos and jeers from crowds, this has been a long time coming for Mclaren, Hamilton, and Mercedes Benz.
Personally, being british and seeing Hamilton taking away the youngest ever champion title from Alonso, and the driver's title away from Ferrari, both of whom have done nothing but try to find every technicality, loophole and regulation to either hinder Mclaren and Hamilton or gain an advantage is the sweetest taste I've ever experienced in 20 odd years of being a dedicated F1 follower.
Here's to next year, and the start of a new season, with new regs, and a reigning BRITISH Formula One World Champion.

Don't you mean all Brazilians & spainish? I mean most of them are racists & spain doesn't deserve 2 GPs, considering Valenica was a snooze-fest.
Anyways congrats to Hamilton, on merit & overall performance over the season he deserved it. Ok both him (fuji)& massa made mistakes (massa spinning in sliverstone 5 times ) along with their teams & of course the terrible stewards. But Hamilton & maclearn made alot less mistakes & had to take alot more s*** & all in all he was BETTER!
Of course bad luck to Massa & thank god that that misrable t*** Kimi is no longer world champion, he was awful, not as bad as Kovy, but still pretty naff! Suppling razor blades to Emos everywhere since 2006Ö |

Verone, if you are such a big F1 fan, why are so nationalistic about it? Just because Hamilton is English/British doesn't mean Brit F1 fans have a duty to support him. It's usually team loyalty that matters. I've been a Ferrari fan my whole life, but regardless of that I think Massa is amazing. He isn't arrogant like Hamilton. He is passionate and fair, and on his form can blow Hamilton away on the track.
I still want to know what happened with Glock.....no driver is that bad in the rain. I know he was on dry tyres, but to lose 20 seconds in the last lap is insane. Especially when there wasn't much standing water at the time.
Not that it really matters though, since as long as the Renault is decent next year, I see Alonso winning the title ahead of both men.

Good Job to Hamilton.
Feel sorry for Coulthard resigning on the first corner of his last race and for Massa's family celebrating too early :(

Very Very Very good race best of the season, BUT! i think Toyota did something dodgy as Glock slowed down on second to last or last corner and let Vettel and Hamilton pass him.
Me personally thinks Massa should have got the title (i may be biast being a Ferrari fan) but i do think Toyota slowed to let Hamilton pass to get the crown.
Still good job Hamilton, bring on next season which hopefully will be as good as this one

Linkage - post on there near my post that says what Glock said after the race - dry tyres, increasingly wetter surface = slower and slower pace

I have to agree with you there mate, it was obvious to see Glock slowed down to allow Vettel and Hamilton to pass, and yes i am british but have been a Ferrari fan all my life and Massa is an outstanding driver and has done on hell of a job at Ferrari

Congrats to Lewis, a great championship win despite many mistakes and much external meddling by race stewards/FIA
Feel sorry in a way for Massa, but not to much after his stupid comments after Spa and germany.. he should have kept out of the controversey and kept his mouth shut.. shame really.
But well done Lewis, lets hope the British press give him the credit he now deserves.

I've been a fan of F1 since I was old enough to know what a car was. I don't see how I'm nationalistic at all, when I'm supporting a team that uses GERMAN powerplants and was founded by a guy from NEW ZEALAND.
As a child I was always a huge fan of Ayrton Senna, he was basically god to me until San Marino in 1994, then he became a legend in the sport. I've been a Mclaren fan since the race team was known as Honda Marlboro Mclaren, had Ferrari's current sponsor, and ran Honda powerplants. I've supported british, brazilian, finnish, austrian and danish drivers who've driven for Mclaren in the past. It's simply sweeter now that the glory has been brought back by a british driver.
I can see why Ferrari and their fans might be bitter, after all they're in the same position Mclaren were last year, losing out on the driver's title by one point. I think Massa took it well, and was very composed about it in the press conference. I respect him a lot as a driver, and he seems like a decent enough person. If it had been Alonso he'd have probably thrown his toys out of the pram.
How you can say Hamilton is arrogant is beyond me, you don't know the man, and every one of the people who lines up on the grid of a Grand Prix is there to do one thing. Win. If that means closing the door on someone under braking, defending your line, braking late or testing someone's nerve, that doesn't make a driver arrogant, it means he has the balls to do what it takes to bring the car to the finish first. Schumacher, Raikkonen, Senna, Massa, Prost, Hill, Mansell, Villeneuve, Lauda, and many more all names of people who're great drivers because they have the nerve to push that little bit extra.
As for Glock? No driver is that bad in the rain? Try Massa himself at Silverstone this year when he put torville and dean to shame with his pirouettes.
I've had the displeasure of driving a track set-up road car on slicks during a trackday, with less than half the power of an F1 car and way more electronics to control it's stability, and I can say first hand it's no picnic at all in a sudden downpour and scares the living hell out of you regardless of how big you might think your balls are. Granted I wasn't driving professionally, or in competition, but frankly if anything that coupled with the fact you're driving over a million quid's worth of carbon fiber and technology, and need to meet the expectations of your sponsors, team and race engineer would be enough I should imagine.
As for Renault, if they can put in the same form they showed from Belgium onward this year, they'll be at the front of the Grid in 2009 and maybe Alonso can have his fabled "revenge".
