Originally by: Todd Doughnut Jeebus, when they bring out content the whiners complain that they dont "fix the lag"
this time they've concentrated on 'fixing the lag' and its "wheres the content"?
You children will go to bed without any supper if you're not careful.
Different whiners?
Personally, I could care less about the lag and would prefer they put those development energies elsewhere. Since I don't go to Jita nor do I participate in fleet battles, lag doesn't really effect me.
So I would rather they fill the holes in the industrial ship availablity, or work to sync PC and NPC behavior, things like that which I actually interact with.

Originally by: Pottsey Reten Kip said "It's possible that they're saving most of the content to announce at the fanfest. " That would be a very stupid move. News sites are already spreading the announcement of the new expansion and how small it is. CCP just created them self bad publicity. If they wanted to wait till Fanfest to announce new feature they should have hold of the expansion announcement till then.
It is quite possible that it is exactly that, a stupid move. CCP's marketing team seems to still be sorting out how to handle PR. They really feel like they are coming from other (less grass root oriented) industry and not adapting quickly enough.
It is also possible that they do have some big announcements for fanfest but they will be 'someday' things to keep people interested in the future but not materialize for years, if ever. That is another PR issue they seem to have, showing off new ideas that never actually make it into the game generate lots of short term enthusasm but can hurt a company long term. |

Orca ain't it.
I'm in the same boat. I was really hoping for some class of ship (that isn't a billion or 2 worth of ISK) that would make being a nomadic industrialist a bit more viable as a play style.

If you want to kick Transgaming to the curb and start work on a native client now, I promise I'll patiently wait another year.
They had their opportunity to do this when they were working on Trinity. They choose not to and I don't expect they will be revisiting the question. If nothing else, I have found that among game developers, moving from DirectX to OpenGl is worse then pulling teeth, it's a religious war. Unless they have some really laid back developers the only way for CCP to build an OpenGl client would be to hire new people.
Considering they seem to be pretty microsoft technology centeric there, I'm guessing they have drunk too much of the coolaid anyway ;p
