Quote: Director Brian Tobin called the comment "highly distasteful and insensitive".

Uh... hello? Mr Tobin? You said that Mr. Clarkson's comments were "distasteful and insensitive"?
I'd just like to point something out: JEREMY! FETHING!! CLARKSON!!!. Thank you for your time."

Why is it that it is SO easy to make a link, yet so many people that wanna share their thoughts and opinions neglect to do it, thus turning-off a lot of potential thread-contributors? Simple little steps can make yoo moar pop-pew-lar.
jason hill - I have linked your link for you.

After having read the article, I am once again left thinking: If you don't like the things Jeremy Clarkson says, DON'T ****ING WATCH JEREMY CLARKSON.
If you were one of the supposed 30,000 complainers about the Ross/Russ thing last week, who the **** are you to dictate what the rest of us can or can't watch by complaining until things get plugged - if you don't like the things they say on these shows - DON'T ****ING WATCH THEM!

I went to see them at the top gear live show on sunday and considering it was billed as a family event there were more than one or two parents holding their hands over their kids ears .And to be fair the worst offender was actually James May

dude, theres a fine line between being funny and being a complete ****. brand and woss were the latter in this case. They were out of line, hence why it was 30000 and not 100 complaints.
In JCs case youre completely bang on. the man gets repeated **** for his comments when people KNOW what to expect and they know he really is taking the ****.
Watch the likes of his comments on bikers (I ride myself) he gets no end of ****e, but watch the videos, in particular the outtakes, he spends a lot of time chatting with bikers, May and Hammond both ride and so, apparently, do many of the top gear staff. he takes the ****, and most right minded folk understand that.
ross and brand were in a completely different ballpark with that crap. ...in accordance with the prophecy |

"Jeremy Clarkson has prompted more than 500 people to complain to the BBC"
500 is that it? like is that all in the whole wide world.
Mr ofcom just ignore them these 500 people are idiots. Or more likely just one person with 499 alternative names and addresses who don't actually exist.

Actually, it was only 1 complaint the day it was broadcast, 2 the next day, then the Daily Express (I think) ran the story telling it readers to complain, and it boomed to 30000 complainers (which Im pretty sure there wern't 30000 individuals. You know you got idiot complainers when they complain it took them 10hours to ring through with their complaints.)

I cant remember the exact figures but due to ****wits in charge ofcom are legally obliged to investigate at some ludicrously low number of complaints.

hmmm. I wasnt aware of that! I could well be wrong on this, however im going to stand by my principles cos i think both of them are so unfunny its painful. (im slighty less offended by brand since watching forgetting sarah marshall, he was somewhat amusing in that.)
Always gonna get skewed results with sheeple involved I spose.
Still, from what I know of the whole cluster**** I still think they were out of order. |

Don't get me wrong, they we're being ****s to Andrew Sachs, but they apologised (For telling the truth, as Brand did sleep with his granddaughter), he accepted it, but the media didn't.
Also she decides to go and take money from the Sun to pose on page 3? She's just as bad as Ross and Brand.
And yeah, I actually liked Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (You also got to see Mila Kunis! )

We get Top Gear here in the states, on dish ( BBCAmerica). I thought it was pretty funny. I used to be a truck driver:D It's an urban myth for a reason. Remember all those horror movies, you know, the B ones. Innocent tart goes hitchiking and Mr Wrong the truckdriver picks her up? The evil shotgun-wielding redneck sex maniac? ( sort of a Deliverance tangent maybe). The couple who break down on the side of the road, and the wife gets kidnapped by the trucker? The group of teenagers who get chased by a trucker for 2 hours? C'mon, even Thelma and Louise beat up a sex crazed married trucker near the end.
Yep, I laughed. But then, I'm a bad person.
English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleys, coshes 'em, and rummages in their pockets for loose bits of grammar. |

Edited by: Iva Soreass on 04/11/2008 15:16:49 The reason this is getting 'blown' out of proportion is because of the whole 'PC' Brigade jumping on the Russell Brand And Johnathan Ross fiasco, it was a light hearted joke what clarkson made i was watching it and belive me it wasn't that bad ffs.
Edit - Btw 7million + watch Top gear and what 180 'complained' what a fecking joke.
Seriously this pc brigade currently here in the uk is a joke they need to take a pill ffs.
Btw was a great eppisode i laughed so much watching it. |

Soon on TV in the UK, no one will be able to say a word about another person if things carry on the way they are going...
And the English say the Germans have no sense of humor....

The Ross and Brand thing stirred up a lot of **** because what they were doing was bullying an individual. Clarkson wasn't. It's called humour of the ridiculous. It's funny because it's absurd. Anyone who thought he was attacking truck drivers needs their heads examined.
