And the Annoying Lamers in question this time, are Village People
After going about my normal business in Empire, I pass through Nonni, and spot these guys camping the gate to Ikuchi. So they lock me, and I watch local for a bit, and realise that they're sat there locking everyone that passes, hoping someone will fire. Yeh, we've heard this all before.....usually happens outside a newbie station by people to pass the time or something. Well to me, this is just downright lame.
I don't mind pirates, pirates are a part of this game. I believe the expression "No safe is safe space," and live by that. But this "tactic" of letting the sentries do the work for you, really is as low as you can go, in my belief. Not even Ore thieves are this bad.
So anyways, I decided to have some fun, and after dropping what I was doing, I flew back to the gate in my shuttle, started orbiting one of them at 500m, and started spamming warnings to local. Just annoying them in general, got into a general smacktalking session with them. Apparently they petitioned against me. *Shrugs*
Anyways, 20 or so minutes later... They get sick of me or bored of nonni or something, and head into Ikuchi. Same thing happens, they sit on the gate or in proximity of the gate....and I get local bugged. Typical really.... So come 10 minutes, and a guy flies through and falls prey to their lameness. Yes he was dumb for doing so, thats not the point. So i make a grab for the can....and take out the most expensive loot in there. (Two cap recharger II's) I contact the guy, and get them back to him. Relog, and spend 20mins or so finding them again, and they show up in Jita. Doing the same again..
So we repeat the situation, I spam warnings, they get annoyed, they smack, I smack, we spam local. And people join me, in shuttles and interceptors, orbiting them at 500m, being annoying. Lameness to fight lameness.......and it was fun. I swear, annoying these gimps has been the most amusing thing ive done in Eve for months... They were doing everything to undermine me, outspamming me, calling me a thief (and rightly so! in a Robin Hood type way, of course), ahhh fun.
It's good to be bad to be good.
VP: Get a hobby, seriously. Do some REAL pirating.

Locking isn't a hostile action, consider all the transfer modules and even scanners.

Good work annoying them! Must be quite a looser corp to use such a tactic. I thought there is nothing lower than an ore-thief but now i know better. Everyone with at least a bit of self-esteem would do the dirty work himself.
Hope u guys get out to 0.0 sometime. And be sure that you will be remembered for what you are.

Edited by: Byron5184 on 04/07/2004 16:49:48 If a battleship pilot fell for that, then the pilot deserved to get fragged by CONCORD, i am not siding with Village People but people dumb enough to fall for that dirty handed tactic when they are in battleships do not deserve to own anything better than a frigate, or even a noob ship. LOL
But great story though, i might try that when im in a frig and someone does that *cough* Atomic Warrior in Todaki (noob system *cough* LMFAO

Because a target lock is generally considered an aggressive act, and many players instinctively shoot if someone locks them because the person that locks them is about to shoot you 99% of the time. _________________ [SAK] And Proud Of It! aka Cpt Bogus Is that my torped sig cloaking your base? |
