Edited by: Kalintos Tyl on 05/11/2008 14:49:54 Edited by: Kalintos Tyl on 05/11/2008 14:47:32 # Minmatar Minmatar ships are versatile (although Gallente can also be versatile by shield tanking in Eos or Myrmidon, dealing different damage with drones; the same is true for Caldari ships and their missiles), but at the same time difficult ships to fly well. They do a bit of everything: shield tank, armor-tank, missiles, drones and turrets. For turrets, they use projectile weapons with the variations "Auto-Cannon" and "Artillery". Minmatar ships are generally fast and agile, which makes them the perfect candidates for speed-tanking.
Mealstorm:
mass: 103,600,000 kg inertia: 0.12 speed: 94 m/sec
Hyperion:
mass: 100,200,000 kg inertia: 0.11 speed: 110 m/sec
isnt something off ?
Megathron: 98,400,000 kg 0.11 105 m/sec Tempest: 103,300,000 kg 0.105 120 m/sec
Tempest was buffed to aprox mega agility in last build becouse mega was like 30% more agile. All hail galante whiners.

you can't expect to speed tank ALL ships as i don't expect all gallente ships to wtfpwn in dmg. BUT it's not about the DAMAGE MULTIPLIER on guns. nerfing tracking or giving others a better way to tank your damage, and ONLY yours is still a way to nerf it.

Which is a tracking and range issue, not a damage issue. Gallentean ships should still be (on paper) the most damaging but it's somewhat up to player skill to be able to maximize it in any given combat situation.
Ofc, I'm still waiting to see shortrange weapons will do on TQ, blasters included, so we'll see. _____________________

can't you see the 2948924 threads about blasters being way over nerfed on singu atm? we don't have that many zmg missiles are nerfed threads, and mission carebears outnumber blaster pilots... we tested, we gave feedback, it's still a crap situation for blasters. give blasters a 7-10k optimal, pulse 15, etc to scale it, but don't leave us at 2.5 with the insane tracking issues....

CCP's public documentation is notoriously out of date. I suppose that you will use the Item Database as grounds for arguing that webs should be have a 90% post-patch effect.
CCP doesn't reference that guide when making game balancing decisions.
Building your argument for boosting blasters on flavor text in a guide, "official" or otherwise is absurd.

Just tested on multiple corpies ships with my usual mega fit.
Test rules: both start at 80k from eachother and get in range ASAP
My Megathron 7x ion 1x large neut (caldari antimatter) 1x web, 1x disruptor, 1x 100mn mwd, 1x cap booster 2x 1600mm plate, 2x magstab 2x EANM 1x large repper 5x ogre 3x trimark I
It deals about 751 dps at the right range with drones out. 3.6k OPT with 9.6k falloff (eft stats, ingame it was more like 12k that i stopped doing serious damage)
Target ships Torp-raven (torps, mwd, point, buffertank) Typhoon (AC/Torps/neut, mwd, point, buffertank) Rokh (rail 80k opt, mwd, usual fleet fit) Gank Geddon (had 30k or something with the multispectral ammo, mwd, buffer tank i guess) Harbringer (40k opt, mwd, 64k buff tank)
Results.
The raven moved faster then i did, (and it did anyway for the last year+) it had more range (24k or so im figuring, skills dependant). It died, slowly because i barely stayed in range, but it died. (i was at 9% structure though >.>)
The Typhoon moved slower probably because of the plates, i died wile he was halfway into armor (bastard had a neut, dropped cap/web and he ran out of my range and nuked me before i got back up)
Rokh, the thing miserably failed at staying at range, even though he had a 90k chase advantage before i got there.
Gank Geddon, i got owned far outside range that thing kicks serious DPS at nice range, i moved faster by 4m/s, just got into 14k when he popped me.
The Harbringer, it moves faster, has a fat buffer tank that takes long to chew through and has a good 40-30k range. It was anything like a close call, he took me out before i got through the first 20% of his armor (got in range due luck i guess)
Conclusion. Blasters work fine on the mega for the looks of it. I cant see any disadvantages i have on SISI that i currently dont have on TQ.
Overall ALL the ships move slower, so most are affected by it in a balanced way. The
Amarr ships have the obvious advantage due longer range ammunition, which they have on TQ already.
Ravens are faster and have longer range with the nerf, which they already are on TQ right now. Rokhs have not been affected much. It's fairly logical i caught up with him, sniper BS dont run guns + MWD + tank that long without a cap booster. Didnt see much difference from TQ, although i found it stupid to engage a sniper with a blasterboat, seein i had to travel the 80k n all.
The Typhoon has good AC range and good torp range. Depending on its fit it will go faster/slower then the average plated megathron, it deals around the same DPS, just depends how well the torps sync with the tank.
For how i see it, nothing to whine about. My megathron works perfectly, im suspecting my Brutix and thorax to be the same. Yes longer range weapons have a itty whitty bit of a advantage, which is nullified by the fact that their still going about the same speeds as they used to, the numbers are just missing a 100m/s.
For ****s and giggles, i bought and fitted a ishtar too. Is 2.4k/s bad? only 900m/s slower then on TQ atm. And i usualy dont even use polycarbons on them, the 400m/s increase i get out of it isnt worth the 60m.
Ending words: CCP, nothing wrong with the upcomming speed adjustments for the looks of it, although could you add another Certificate please? The "We whine of the forums without a clue" medal. -- Real men corpse tank Void Forums The Chaotic Order Forums |

i wonder how many people would "move on to a new game" if they would move all l4 agents to low sec or make missiles useless in both pvp and pve. stop using arguments just to avoid the obvious. blasters were meant to do dmg. they stil ARE meant for that. HOWEVER, not being able to actually HIT a target that's not a POS seems kind of big to me. sure, i'll brag to everyone telling how much my neuts just hit the control tower for when my heavy electron cannons won't be able to track a friggin abaddon that's orbiting me with 200m/s at 3-4km away. npnp

Something in addition that i did notice though. The webs leave ships with faster speed then on TQ currently, but didnt make much of a difference. Im more wondering if it now gets usefull to try things like faction webs/scramblers to add webrange and MWD shutoff at optimal gunrange. Although i forgot to check if the scrambler turns MWD's off on SISI atm. Im going to dig into those facts once i see the actual numbers infront of me, anything on SISI is to subject of change.
As i use blasterboats alot i wanted to see beforehand >.< -- Real men corpse tank Void Forums The Chaotic Order Forums |

Edited by: Leviathan9 on 05/11/2008 17:12:49 Edited by: Leviathan9 on 05/11/2008 17:10:11 Try using a gank mega setup, 7 neuts, 3 mag stabs, 2 plates, dcu II eanm II.
With my skills i get about 1.3k dps with drones. you also get further range than Ions, plus with Null you get somewhat around 26km max range, and still over 1k dps.. just.
Also tbh, gallente without a DCU is kinda fail. Swap over one of those EANM IIs for a DCU II, your overall ehp increases by quite a bit.
As for your setup again, also change the guns, 3 ion IIs 4 neutron IIs, the range difference between the two doesn't have much effect, you do more dps also. Use Void, that gives you more dps also. ---------------------------

Heavy Electron Cannons can track an Abaddon that is orbiting with 200m/s at 3-4km range, with no problem at all. Range might start to be an issue, but not tracking, so try pulling in a bit closer.
If you meant Electron Cannons, tracking will be a bit more of an issue, but you are still on the up side of the tracking curve, and would be getting a greater chance to hit than the Abaddon.
A Mega Pulse fitted Abaddon is still likely to out damage your Electron fitted Megathron/Hyperion, but that's because you are comparing the lowest teir of blaster with the highest teir of pulse laser.
