Tecchnically there was no interregnum between those two, unless you ignore Doriam. Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori.

The invasion wasn't sanctioned by the MoW apparently, theres probably more to this story than they've released so far. Maybe The Broker is involved somehow .

Just build up an appropriate amount of backstory, so everyone knows when its going to happen and where, turn the entire system into 0.0 and watch the carnage :) Allow players to choose which side they're fighting for when they enter the system, warp to teh battle site and fight it out. Then, base the story arc off of which sides kill/death ratio was better. Ohhh i want another Armageddon day :p

Either way, game progression during Downtime is stupid, doesn't involve the playerbase at all, and pretty typical of the way FW is being played out.
