Can i have your stuff, at least?
lol.. have not heard those terms in awhile. And no you cannot have my stuff, i still have all my goods on SWG though i dought i will ever return.
I am going to give it a try non the less but for something that was to "even" the playing field for PvP has totally changed my PvE playing. Will it be like the Torps where Players could not shoot out to 80K and get a hit but the NPC's could? Time will tell.

I ran a test with my Golem on Sisi, and apart from a few weird moments I didn't see any huge change vs NPCs with torps - something like 770 DPS with my utterly crappy skills (marauders 1, no upgraded target painter skills) _____________________

and this patch does not?
It is no longer the game i have been playing for the last few years when this patch goes live
/signed and agree with the OP.
I could deal with reworking my curse fit, but having 90M of polycarbs permanently on the ship leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'd imagine a lot of vaga/ishtar pilots feel the same.
I also find it odd that now instead of a web+disruptor, I need to fit a scram+disruptor to kinda do the same thing?

Repackage the ship. Put on new rigs. Problem solved.
If you're whining about the cost... you bought a flavor of the year that has had a nerf announced/rumored for months. Deal with it.

This I agree with. We should have received a weaker 10km web, and a very weak 24km t2 web. As it stands now the 9km scram has more utility than a weak 10km web. The intention was that a weak 60% web should not be death. Now we have a 9km scram that is death to most anything with a mwd ship.

Old news, but nevertheless a hatchet has been applied where a scalpel was called for.

The big problem with the scalpel is that even if they did weeks and months of tests and feedback, and lightning fast, it would still put them at this point most likely. No other strategy really offered immunity from damage in so many forms, let alone required two types of ships and skills to stop. (other nanoships, and rapiers, which also had the problem of only being able to fit a nanotank as well.)
The fact that even with those, you had to be amazingly (I mean, let me summarize that even a generally skilled MMO player with two friends and specialized counterships for this example) competent in every aspect to catch one pilot using such types of setups. Blobbing is bad I'll admit, but that needs to be fixed in a whole different means (trust me, you think you've heard whines now? picture how bad blobbing/camping becomes now. Which, to be honest would make the need for a BS/cap and larger balancing much more visible.) I flew nothing but caldari ships and used missiles for the first 18 million of my skillpoints over these near two years. I had to very specifically train navigation, gunnery skills, more ewar, and recons AND Minmatar cruiser V, and now they fix this. Even the few times I've had to play, even with me being spot on with two others it was too easy to escape. Catching a Nano was impossible unless you had a very good idea of them incoming, and even then a slight bit of lag could ruin it. It was hit and run beyond any real power that had existed before in the game. It rendered missiles USELESS, which almost every single caldari pilot specialized in. Guns had you playing traversal games trying to snipe with multiple ships, of which they could warp out to escape anyway. It was either train for the Nano or train specifically for the counter. That's why it got hammered into a style of tank like every other. Another one bites the dust. |

And about the 24km web crap your talking about. That thing would screw up EVE like 57694785674895764985896748568759657597587 times more than EVE would get screwed ever .
Now, who are the dumbest here LOL?
Theres already a pretty decent 24KM webber, except its not called a webber. Its called a heavy neut. Besides a 24KM web would just kill nanoships, atleast the BS's would still be safe from the nerf, right?

Just be glad you didn't buy an officer web for 3 or 4 billion isk; after the patch these will be worth 200m at most.
Anyway, I'm glad to see this topic brought up, it needs to be discussed more in the forums. Patch day is tomorrow so there's plenty of time for CCP to cancel the nerf and redo it specifically to suit the 1000 or so people who don't want it.

My min cruiser V finished literally hours before the nerf was originally announced. Doesn't matter, the slaves will rule again one day, and I'll be ready!!!

The reason that polys are so expensive, or were ;), is because they are that much more used then other rigs, for a reason.
The patch allows the use of many more tactics, ones that would be laughed at atm. With more tactics being used eve gets more interesting, and the ones playing eve smart will be more rewarded then they are now.
