Edited by: Liu Kaskakka on 06/07/2004 13:34:31 Maybe you should start by looking up the 100500 other threads about raven fitting. If that doesn't work, maybe you should post your current setup and ask if its okay. If you haven't got a clue where to start when fitting a raven, you shouldn't have bought one.
Edit: And a raven isn't for NPCs

well i don't know what NPC's you've been fighting mate but i assure where i am a Raven kinda comes in handy. Up against BS rats (which are frequent) Raven's seriously kick butt. Having said that i have a totally different set up for PVP.
Cheers

Nothing like everyone being helpfull is there? Is there any need for the sarcasm and derogatory remarks in these posts? A simple polite suggestion or even a link to another thread (I dont know how to add links or I would) would be nice to see rather than the remarks I see here. I really wish the people who comment like this would remember that we all have to start somewhere. Grow up guys.
And Amstaffuuu I wish I could help you more but im in pretty much the same position mate.

Most raven setups esp for pvp are nearly universal atm.
Best choice for pvp (with frig/cruiser jamming support)
LOW: 5x Power Diag 1's
MID: 2x Tech2 Cap Rechargers - 1x EM Hardener, 1x Thermal Hardener, 1x Shield Boost Amp, 1x XLrg Shield Booster.
HIGH: 6x Siege Launchers (Cruise/Cruise F.O.F/Torps), 2x Heavy Nosferatus (Cap Neutralisers if dealing with frigates/cruisers for quick cap killing, max the energy management skill for best results)
Solo Pvp, swap the 2 cap rechargers for either 1x -2 Warp Scram and a webifier, or 2x Warp scrams.
NPC hunting isnt far off that setup, just alter your highslot weapons a bit to your own preference. __________________________________________

Remember your skills help a greta deal, and whats good for 1 ship is not good for another, ive trained for a long time with the raven in mind, when i managed to pilot a megathron i found because i had trained for so long with only the raven in mind that the megathron was crap, as i had no ability to armour tank/repair, very very weak turret skills etc.
Be sure to train your skills accordingly and try to stick to 1 main ship with another/others as a backup.
for the raven you will want to concentrate on shields/cap/cap recharge/cpu reduction skills, and tac shields to a min of lvl4 to stop damage bleeding when shields are low, and most importantly is now missile damage/misc skills.
Mid to short range the Raven is lethal, at mid to long its another story unless the opponent is dense enough to sit and watch a continual stream of torps/cruise missiles come for him.
Defense on the raven assists your offense greatly, if you can take a royal pummeling then you can remain alive long enough to dish some pain yourself. __________________________________________

Esab you cant realy be helpfull in this post if person asks you how to fit raven for NPC/PVP/WAR <----setup for WAR!? and to top it up he adds "BLA BLA"<-- this indicates that person dont care and wont take seriously the answers he will get. And as Liu mentioned for the person who asks questions like this there are 100's of posts about ravens setups the ones HE REALY NEEDS TO READ FIRST. Thank you

npc setup.
High: 5 or 6 siege, one standard or assault with defenders, two smartbombs. Med: Tech 2 large shield booster, one shield amp, 3 shield harners, one left for either a mwd, aft, cap booster or anything else usefull. Low: Ballistic, worpcore stab, cappower relay's, and the rest to get the above fitted:). When comfy with your hunting grounds ditch the worpcore stab and or ballistic to add more cappower relay's. Drone bay: 6 wasp's Allway's prepare a panic button ( auto pilot set to another system) before worping into any belt. Hit the auto pilot when you freak or panic:). Allway's focus on the small fast worp scrambling frigat's first. Use your smartbombs for them. One target after another is best since all npc boost shields and repair up from structure. When you have them over half damage stop the stream of torps to save cost. I leave the pvp part to myself but hoped to have helped you with this.

Edited by: Mechkilla on 07/07/2004 23:56:44 Don't use Cap Power Relays on a shield tanked ship. They decrease the shield boosting effect by 10%. And if you stack them your booster will get nearly useless (for the cap usage). Use Power Diagnostic Units. The Tech 1 will increase your overall capacitor by 4 %, decrease your cap reloading time by 7,5%. Sounds not much but your cap recharge rate will go up for 12,4%. That's not bad and they also strengthen your shields. Start with 5 of those in your low slots and exchange one or two of them when you get more experience with your fitting. And one warp core stab is not enough, neither for PvP nor rat hunting. They are for girls or Gallente . Drop it and use the slot for a PDU. Only NPC frigate/interceptor rats will warp scramble you and they could killed easily by drones, 2 cruise missiles or 1 torpedo even if they are in close orbit to you. And Learn to activate/deactivate your booster, that XLarge will drain your cap quite quick.
Shepard: Forget the Cap Flux. Your effective cap recharge rate will only increase by 13,33% and you loose much of your cap.
That are only a few tips search the forum and read not only about setups for Raven. It's always better to know more :).
