hello folks,
the last days i was on the testserver and tried to get behind the way the inertia of a ship relates to mass, propulsion boosting and response speed to commands etc.
i still try to figure out how the following stats affect my ship exactly:
inertia modifier: does a higher value mean my ship is turning, aligning and accelerating faster?
mass: the more my ship weights the less it benefits from speed boosting and the slower it turns, aligns and accelerates.
so why on sisi my typhoon seems still be more speedy and agile than a dominix which has now a lot less mass than the phoon?

Inertia: You want this as small as possible. Bigger value means your slower and fly more like a brick, but it also relates to mass so you'll notice often frigs have very high values but in relation to mass they end up much more agile.
Mass: Again the smaller the better. If your heavy then you'll accelerate slower and take a lot longer aligning/turning.
The two essentially combine to figure out how agile you are.

yeah the difference between bs and frig inertia mod kinda came to my attention and was one of the things which confused me.
could you btw explain how the mass relates to inertia mod and vice versa?
as i mentioned above a now heavier phoon is faster while speedboosted and more agile than a now lightweight dominix. how can one explain this?

the phoon is still the fastest bs of all races this might explain the boost advantage. but the mass was increased considerably so i doubt it is as agile as before.

They also gave the agility of all battleships a boost, so it should still be very agile.
Infact my Domi this morning turned better than it has ever done, acceleration was pretty amazing too.
Sure the speed is lower, but changing direction and speed should be quite a bit better.
