Earlier it at least often took 2 minutes before they noticed a hostile in local and safespotted/logged (which can be enough to get them).
But now they can have their local blink and make them notice me instantly.
w00t! Not
*update* The feature is being removed in next patch. Good to see the responces here, and the fast reaction. Thread has done it's purpose, a mod can as well lock it now.

Agreed. There are people that "always" log or safespot within a minute after I enter local. Sure, I get ****ed, but it takes a big effort from them to watch their back like that, so all fair. The list in local and the map is fine the way they are.
Originally by: Kain De'Stroi This really is taking the ****. I just feel sorry for the well known pirates who have a hard enough time creeping into local and now they are gonna be announced...
Spot on the point of this thread.

True. Same goes for everyone in a system < 0.5. But with good scanner usage, a target is found fast. There were balance. Wellknown name = people noticed faster = shorter time to find target = player has to show skills deserving a wellknown name to get his target. Like is should be.

nope they care alright and will attack the pilot who shoots first in anything but none empire 0.0 space.
Well then that expains it then...guess he was hoping I was a N00b...
One question on this then, how are Pirates getting people at .4 gates? i thought >=.5 Concord responds =>.4 no concord response?
Sentries aren't that hard. A single battleships can kill another poorly fitted BS while the sentries fire on him. Not to mention a cruiser, which dies in less than 10 seconds. What he meant when he said that was probably that he got lock on you the second you warped away.
Now, back on topic.

Edited by: dalman on 11/07/2004 03:40:21 Hard to say if he's complaining about this feature and carebears or if he's upset for what happened when they didn't pay attention to local.
