OMG pirating is sanctioned by the game mechanics!  Pirates don't come to empire space, and I don't go to low sec space without friends.
Only thing about pirates I hate is the childishness of a small minority...like this one guy who wanted to know if his podded victim had lost any implants. That's all, just wanted to know. Didn't want the implants; he just wanted to know how much loss he had caused.

Dude, you got this game on a CD?!? 
My main problem with 'piracy' as it is now is, its not true piracy but just mostly people who run around ganking people for fun. Id like to see some of these pirate groups wise up and ply their trade a bit more intelligently.

My main problem with 'piracy' as it is now is, its not true piracy but just mostly people who run around ganking people for fun. Id like to see some of these pirate groups wise up and ply their trade a bit more intelligently.

i like pirates, without which eve would be pretty boring as the good ones keep you on your toes and, well the bad ones end in a pod

I believe in gemini (patch version from CD), rules were pretty different. It was easeir to toll people and pirate 'properly' as you might call it. Harder to avoid combat back then. Now its quite easy to avoid combat with insta's and warp stabs and everything else, which is why its much easier to kill someone than risk them getting away.

With a growing lvl of frustration at how ghey the ingame politics in EVE have become I may very well find out what pirating is like. If I do i'll post my observations for you.
I bet the Jokers have more fun ingame than most of us though.
Without some pirates EVE would suck ass through a straw.
