Just to add towards the DirectX vs OpenGL topic. Its not that OpenGL can not keep up with DirectX. Its just that its an unfair comparison. OpenGL (Open Graphics Library) just does 2D/3D graphics. DirectX does 2D/3D, sound, network, I/O.
To be fair a comparison would include:
DirectX
vs.
OpenGL OpenAL SDL Linux network code (AFAIK theres no ready made lib for network games in Unix) Linux I/O code (all joystick and the like drivers are in kernel).
And just as an aside, OpenGL as a specification does support T&L and vertex shaders and all that stuff. Its the drivers that are lacking. NVIDIA drivers for example implement all of the latest specs in linux, for example. But same can not be said for others.
And as Doom3 is coming out for Linux, the DirectX part of it is probably in the network/audio department. Graphics will still be OpenGL, which is what it is for.

Does this mean, that you still have a PC? If so, why dont you use the mac as a gateway?

If you have 'net access on a Mac why doesn't it provide access for your PC?

How to wind up a mac representative.
He walks into my office & asks what I think of mac's
"Do you really want to know?" "Yes, it cant be that bad." He said
So I tell him "They make great door stops to allow the cool air in over the summer".
He is a little bit narled at this but takes it in his stride. We are chatting about what support he could offer, I think about asking for a small chipper to be delivered to our Goods In door for instant disposal but bite my tounge.
After a bit he pipes up and says "So, what do you think of the iBooks?"
"Dont keep the door open as well as iMac's"
He picks up all his things and walks out.
Hmmm. Think he got the message that I dont like Mac's.
