I have noticed that my ship stats keep changing, particularly the damage modifier. I now realise this is due to ship moduals turning themselves off when docking and logging on. I now have to check on 'ships fitting' and ajust whenever I am in station. Does this happen to others, and is there an explaination for it?
I would also like to know why the target lock keeps jumping from ship to ship when fighting a number of pirates. I thought it was due to it switching to last active threat (firing at me), but I can find no logic to it. It can happen so fast that even when I double click on a target by the time I have hit my gun buttons - I can find I am shooting at 3 different targets. It will even switch target to corp member that is supporting me with moduals (thus showing up as a target).

Whenever I log on - one of my two 250mm railguns is ALWAYS inactive, and I have to activate is manually - This is VERY annoying if I forget to do it before I undock.
I also get the seemingly random target lock switching thing. I've webbed more cargo containers and roids than I care to think about....
Can you shed any light on these issues CCP? ------------------------ "The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations." ------------------------ |

Yep will switch to Cargo Containers, I knew there was a reason I discounted 'last threat' theory :).
I wondered whether game checks ships cpu and powergrid - turns off moduals to suit - then adds skill modifiers, but again there seems no logic to how many are turned off.

I haven't experienced modules switching off at logout, but they do when I switch ships. The reason is that I have skills that bosts my powergrid and without thous skills I don't have enough powergrid to support all modules. When I leave a ship my skills are no longer bosting it's powergrid and so it can't keep all modules online.
Same goes from CPU bosts due to skills.
Target switching: When ever you lock on to a new target the active target will switch to that target. When ever the active target is destroyed/leaves your targeting range one of your other locked targets will be active (don't know how the new active is chosen). The "auto target back" thingy is often creating confusion in baltes with many targets.
Example: You have 2 targets locked, the one NOT active is destroyed. The "auto target back" targets a new threat for you and the previously active target is no longer active.

Target switching isn't always obeying those rules, sadly. I frequently mark the container of one of the more profitable pirates so I can move directly to that container after I finish up the spawn; while staying in active range (in fact, under 20k) the target will sometimes simply decide to shift active from one to another. This is particularly dangerous when trying to rapidly clear a belt of containers, looting the good and shooting the bad...only to find that the container you manually clicked is no longer the active target.

The first thing, modules switching themselves off, I get that too sometimes. Both when switching to another ship and when logging out and in again. I guess it's a bug.
Regarding the switching of active targets, I don't know why it does that, or what rules it's supposed to follow. But I would like an option where I could turn it off, because it's very annoying. I don't know how many times I've been firing at 3 different ships when I should focus fore on one. Or how many times I've webified a roid instead of a pirate. But I guess that's something they should look into. :)
