Something I'd like to request for market and definately for escrow is a block. Guarantee most of the scams come from mostly the same people. Just like a 'block this scammer from my market view'. Would probably very quickly sort out escrow and would be a pleasure to browse through again.
Never been scammed but then I take time browsing through the rubbish every single time. I'd personally like to cut out that time that I spend sifting and I bet if people start being able to block the idiots that put stupid prices or ogres as apoc's it would make a difference and a lot more people would use escrow.

WOW! If lazy is creeping 10 shuttles (risking a 7mil SP clone each time) over 30 jumps through some of the most heavily (enemy)defended territory in the galaxy then I would like to see what you do for work!!!!!! Oh and don't forget I have to get home again in a n00b frigate 60+jumps times 10 = 600 jumps in total. Not one death. Lets see you do that through your enemy alliance space and not lose one ship.
Unless of course you were not implying that it was lazy, easy money? I can earn far more than 60 mil in the time it took to do that with far less risk.
Enjoy, its a game! Darwin 4tw

The problem with the warning window is that it comes up even when the difference is somewhat negligible. If I'm buying a 500K skill, I'm willin to swallow a 10% difference in the cost if it saves me 12 jumps to another system where it's cheaper.
After a while the window becomes so much visual noise and background clutter and effectively useless .
I do count the number of zeros during the initial purchase and take note of the decimal position. But some Griefer putting a noob skill up for 1 million is just bloody mindedness run silly . Limitations should be placed on the asking price of any item that is 50% higher than the normal price
Escrow is a whole different system, and you take your risk purchasing anything there without examining the item. I saw a basic cargo expander up for 500K. Escrow is the Swap meet of EVE....
Some Men are Born Mediocre, Some Men Strive for Mediocrity, and Some have Mediocrity Thrust Upon Them...

Sorry mate, thought you were implying that I was lazy for selling shuttles at 10mil each. A lot of people assume it is my prime motivation.
My mistake.

If you get caught, unlucky as previosly stated it your fault for not checking things out enough. I find i all very funny and take the **** out of my friend daily for spending 10 million on a shuttle (LMFAO)
I don't do it myself but good luck to those that do, i am sure they will catch me out one day
Well he must have really needed that lil shuttle, Ill remember to place some strategically all over the universe so that people like him can pay for my BS habbit. I sell em that high when Im the only seller in the system. Its a matter of if you dont want it dont buy it. It is definately an informed decision, and it takes about 1 hour to make a shuttle and next to no minerals so I feel that that little 10 mil once every 3 months is kinda nice... :)

An idea I have heard some people bring up and that I think would mitigate the problem with scammers is some sort of "savings account" on your wallet.
What this basically means is that you can have 2 wallets, one with pocket money and another where you keep the bulk of your monetary assets. Obviously, you could transfer at will between the two as needed.

thats a great idea btw rakoon. it would esp. help lazy players from making mistakes.
to respond to the original poster though, you must know EVE is not just a pvp combat game, it involves economic and market pvp. players and corps can try to undercut, scam, overprice, crush their competition, or profiteer on the market. it is another form of warfare whether you like it or not.
also scamming and theivery are intended professions in eve just like pirates and murderers, who can potentially take more than isk from you;)
you have WAY more oportunity to protect youorself from overpricing and market-scams than if you flew your ship into a battleship gate camp. asking CCP to do something to get rid of market scammers is in some way like asking to get rid of one form of pvp in the game.
"i spent weeks mining to get my battleship, i don't want it blown up in 30 seconds by some pker with a gun. i accept that i should not have been lazy and flown right into the gatecamp without checking but this is clearly an exploit of game mechanics! ccp please remove all weapons from the game!"
and ya- ig i hate market scammers to, but i do something about it.
1) i am careful enough to check prices/items so they don't profit from me. 2) in extreme cases i wage a price war with them with my own products- undercuting them so that they cannot make a profit.

Excellent idea. Anything to stop seeing the jackasses that place a shuttle under a <insert battleship name>. I did almost buy the label of 1 million tritanium which actually had 100 tritanium the other day, for 1.3 million. If I did I'd chase that fool into -1.0 if I had to

If you don't look before you leap then complaining you went *SPLAT* as you hit the ground doesn't make much sense.
I always READ the warning window before I proceed to buy something, not just go click happy.
TRUELY the biggest problem is the scammers on Escrow. They not only clain **RARE*** for regular items, but what is even WORST is they SPAM escrow with alot of the same for 10 to 15 lines.
THAT type of scamming should get stomped on by the DEV's since it is straight out scamming and spamming up Escrow. These people PURPOSELY put false descriptions to sell items for ENOURMOUS profits (saw a Ibis advertised in description as a Raven for 60 Million ).
If DEV's don't do something soon I WILL start a list on general with the names and what scam they pulling for everyone on escrow that does it.

i had this same trouble. I questioned a gm as to why they allow the use of Alts just to con other players which is a lil lame. If yer gona scam someone at least do it with a charecter that actually leaves a station and can get ganked back. I was told to basically go away and stfu. Nice helpfull guys the gms.

It's one thing to screw about in Escrow, but it takes a huge pair of rocks to put up a Noob skill book for 1 million isk.
When I figured that one out, I was never so happy to be a poor noob player...
