I searched this mission and the ony thing I could find was discussion about taking a negative standing hit.
I have a Condor fitted with a 125 mm Railgun and two missile launchers and i am hitting little damage ... it is seems like it might take me a few hours on constant firing to kill this Supply Ship.
Do I need a ship with more guns? (Launchers)... every other mission in this set was easy.

What level is it? What can you fly?
Personally i prefer a Merlin / Kestrel as far as Frigates go but if its a level 1 stick with a destroyer and you should be able to get through it without a problem.

This isn't directly relevant, but I've been doing a couple of Level 2 Missions of late and I've noticed that certain ships such as some of the Objectives in Kill Missions (e.g. Industrial NPCs) have surprisingly high amounts of HP for Missions of that level - compared to what I used to see, "back in the day". I wouldn't be surprised now if there are a few Level 1 Objectives/NPCs which display the same unusual stamina as what I've seen.
Try to get up to piloting a Merlin or Kestrel, you'll probably fair a little better. A Cormorant (Destroyer) is quite nice too, especially if you've got more SP invested in Gunnery than Missiles. |

Merlin with 2 125 mm railguns and 2 missiles isn't going very well either lol.
The Railguns take off about 10 HP... while the middles take about 50-60 (albeit slower).

Well this has been an absolutely useless day.
I have tried every type of charge for my 125 mm Railguns (and even bought projectile autocannons)
Down about 500 missiles and have lost count how many charges and projectiles I have used... most I can get the shield down is to something like 1/4....
Stuff like this makes me want to quit

Where are you running this mission? ask help in local, i'm sure some of the older players would help you out with their big ships. |

Maybe try a Kestrel since it can take 4 launchers and has a damage bonus.
Your lvl2 frigate skill would get you +20% to kinetic missle damage and +10% to the rest IIRC. Tell us who you are fighting against so we can know what kind of resistances they have. (Different groups resist different types of damage.) And we can tell you what kind of ammo to use.

I will try asking in local.
I feel embarrassed because the thing is just a Supply Shipment ship and doesn't even fire back.... the dang shields are just so strong.
Anson... I only worry about the launchers being very slow (but they do seem to be the only ones that take of any kind of damage). Even when I put up show info... all it gives is a description... there is no other tabs given.

If you click your Journal and click open the mission description there will probably be a little picture next to where it says who to kill (click it) and I would guess it is probably Gallente. You could try breaking through the shields using EM damage ammo and then switching to explosive damage ammo once the shields are down...or just stick with EM all the way through since sounds like shields may be the hard part :) |

Also, perhaps instead of 125mm Railguns you should try some Blasters loaded with Antimatter Charges. |

I haven't ha dthe chance to try this yet this evening... thanks for all the suggestions...
Here is the info...
A New Venture û Healthy Competition (3 of 5)
Mission briefing There's a small family-run corporation operating in the neighboring system. They keep getting exclusive contracts because they keep their shipments secret and secure. But IÆve figured out where they go.
Intercept the ship, blow it up, and bring the supplies--construction tools, I think-- back to me.
This mission expires at 2008.11.23 20:01:52
Overview and Objectives The following objectives must be completed to finish the mission:
Bring Item Objective Acquire these goods:
Objective Destroy the Supply Shipment and retrieve 8 units of Construction Tools from the jetcan.
Rewards The following rewards and bonuses will be yours if you complete this mission:
Attacking Couriers or Haulers in Hi-sec Truth be told, nowhere in the universe is safe for the humble courier. Even though CONCORD patrols the so-called "hi-sec" areas of space (security rating 0.5-1.0), that doesnÆt ensure your protection one hundred percent. It is possible for a capsuleer of sufficient skill or equipment to take out another capsuleer before CONCORD fully retaliates. Usually the certainty of losing a ship to CONCORD is enough to dissuade hi-sec attacks, but if the payout or cargo is worth enough, an attacker might think it worth the trouble.
Honestly it never says whtat kind of ship I am dealing with..... lol |

No. You clearly don't know how NPC resistances work. Each rat is weak to a specific kind of damage. Use Thermal or Kinetic against Gallente. ------------ Improvize. Adapt. Overcome.

Maybe you didn't read the whole thread but he tried railguns already and in case you didn't know that is thermal/kinetic and it didnt work so I suggested the others. |

Well I just got someone from the CORP channel to help out.
The last two missions of that tree were super easy just like the first two.

I remember this one taking a long time to go down, even with a Minmatar destroyer and a full load of artillery cannons. You're going to be at it forever with any kind of frigate, so I suggest moving up to destroyer and long range weapons. You'll also find every level 1 mission becomes far easier, and the impossible ones become do-able, with warp-outs. Just don't mention "Worlds Collide" to me. That's one I reject every time.

For anyone still stuck with this mission, it's actually pretty easy with a Caldari Kestrel and the *the right kind of weapon and ammo*. The Kestrel and the shieldtank of the target is the clue. Do a spot of research and you'll find the solution in no time. Took about 5 mins back and forth. Nicely paid.
