Yeah, this exactly (though I did lose my ship later on in the second skirmish)
Was fighting RAZOR earlier with Goodfellas and was in complete slideshow mode the whole time, but survived.
Second skirmish went something like warp to fight > ctrl+LMB primary > lag (warp out and back in) > blinding flash as I'm in the process of warping back in > arrive in pod and client freezes
Oh well, only an ares, they're 10 a penny. I'm curious though, any educated persons here care provide a brief dumbed down explanation of what causes these memory leaks/how they might be fixed? |

Quote: For the past two years we have been developing new technology, called StacklessIO, to increase the performance of our network communication infrastructure in EVE. This new network layer reduces network latency and improves performance in high-volume situations, e.g., in fleet-fights and market hubs such as Jita.
enlight me cuz i somehow fail to see improved latency in fleet-fight where 500ppl is shooting each other ... actually they aint even shooting cuz lag prevent every1 from f1-f8 :(
unless i missed the point where u have to ask GM for node reinforcement ...
How is the plex lag though? :)

Originally by: Taguchi Hiroko tbh, make eve turn-based when there is more than, say, 300 in local. At least we know what the hell we are doing.
You might be on to something there, except I would probably suggest doing so at 50 or so.

i personaly think the speed nerf needed to be fixed before the lag problem.lag just makes the game fun, waiting for your guns to shoot, stuck ingame then your in station missing your ship and implants, new targets being called and your still watching the popped target taking damage.good times indeed.yep the speed nerf was sooooooo important |

Actually it was notably better right up until the abomination that is Quantum Rise. Now ordinary play (let alone fleet stuff) is vastly laggier than it was before.
This patch has got to be the biggest piece of garbage CCP has put out in a long time.

Like Linux can solve lag, yeah yeah, Linux is like magic .
Windows Server 2008 -> Windows Vista -> Mac OSX -> Windows Server 2003 -> Linux -> Windows XP.
Yes i use Windows Server 2008 (64-bit) and it's the best OS that exist.
Yes i have this memory leak to, and it's hurting my performance badly sometimes to. The highest i have seen the 'ExeFile.exe' file use on my RAM is 1.2 GB. But other than that, when the client is not bugged or have any of this memory leaks, then i run EVE smoothly as silk on a baby ass skin .
Now GTFO. |

I agree.
However, you can't keep blaming me for your inability to properly setup your OS.
If you knew how to do that, you'd have no lag.

Well you have some points there, but still, i know VERY well how to setup my OS'es.
Remember, all of the OS'es i wrote about longer up is OS'es i have tested.
When it's about Linux it's Ubuntu i'm talking about.
It's simple, i choose Windows for gaming and Ubuntu for everything else except for music and movie production. For music and movie production Mac OSX is the king .
If i want to use Linux (Ubuntu), i'll just use THIS.
Anyways, can we go back to what the topic is about?, yes about the **** that have started to happen after the Quantum Rise Expansion.

If you knew how to setup your OS, you wouldn't be here complaining about non-existant problems with Quantum Rise, would you?
